As a Choice Hotel 💎 Diamond Member, I am promised a few perks. One of the perks is late check out. I asked to check out at 12:00 instead of 11:00. One hour. I was told that it would cost me $35. I checked out on time, but since I had no where to be until 1:00, I watched the room. It has an exterior door park by the door. Most redeeming feature of this place. As of noon, the maids had not started cleaning. Yeah- they could have honored the free late check out without having to keep crew late. I am a repeat customer. When I am in Rhode Island, it’s one of the cheapest hotels, so I stay there. No more though. Next trip, I will stay at Best Western. The room was clean, but sparse. No chair for the desk. No sitting chair. Good WiFi. Good temperature control. Rude check phone staff. Check in was made difficult by glass wall between clerk and myself and his inability to speak English clearly. I had reserved an accessible room, but got regular room. Shower was dangerous, because the tub was super slippery and there were no handrails.
