Courtyard Mishawaka-University Area

We have stayed before but this was not the same experience. There was a large nail standing upright near the shower that looked like it was strategically planted for someone to injure themselves. Our room had not been cleaned - there were clothing tags and other peoples toiletries on the floor. There were no clean toiletries in the bathroom. Cafe staff was late opening and did not seem happy to be working. The elevator felt like a death trap and wasn’t working properly. We checked out early.

For starters the front desk attendant did not give us the right amount of breakfast vouchers. When I asked, she couldn't explain why she only gave me enough for one person when there were two of us. Once in the room, the heating unit did not work, there were stains on one pillow case, one pillow case was inside out, stains on the sheets, the bathroom floor was dirty, the sink was clogged, there was FECES on the toilet seat, and to top it off it was a handicap unit so everything was too low. The bar was also not open due to the low number of customers so we were limited to bottled items. Overall a crappy stay and will never book again. Very poorly managed.

My room I was given had not been cleaned. It smelled and there was a hoodie leftover from the last person who stayed. The whole place smelled like marijuana. No complimentary coffee or breakfast. Nobody was at the front desk to check me out.

We were told that the hotel had a bistro and a bar with pictures on the website . We decided to book there so we could come back after a long day of Black Friday shopping and Eat our dinner, have a few cocktails and get in out of the cold. When we checked in in between stores we were told that they would let us know if bar would be open. Julie checked us in and she was super nice but her boss was curt and rude when I ask again if it would be open. When we returned at 7 pm and had already checked in at 3pm we found that it would not be open. Very upset and had to go back out for Dinner. I think if we did not get the amenities as promised we should have been discounted our room. It was too late to go somewhere else. Also, no one mentioned where the pool was. Also we should have had one breakfast included with our room Nope was not.

The room appears to be from the 90’s but with a new sink countertop. Don’t look for any hand soap on that countertop though. There won’t be any. There are no elite benefits offfered here. Choose a different Marriott.

The staff especially Julie was real helpful.

Our bathroom was flooded from a leak from the floor above. The shower faucet won’t switch properly so the shower head is barely functional.

Good hotel, only spent about 12 hours there.

My only complaint was the odor. It smelled of old and dirty carpet. The smell was mostly in the hallways, but was noticeable in the room as well. Many stains on the car part that is not typical of a Marriott.
