Casa do Pai Beach House

Paulo the host was great, quick to respond when we had a query. The house was well equipped with everything you need,it is modern and spacious,the design of the house brings the outside in when you're in the living area which gives it a very relaxed feel. Wonderful garden and pool area. Beautiful beaches nearby. Lots to explore in and around this region. Happy we chose this to be our holiday home for 8 nights, felt like home but better! Thanks again Paulo for this experience.

The house is located in a fantastic village — my favorite place in Portugal. The interior is modern, cozy, and very pleasant. We especially loved the spacious dining area. The pool was warm during our stay (April 25–28), and the kids were swimming all the time. Overall, the experience was great, and the place is magical!

There’s no space for clothes in the kids’ room — the area that seems meant for a wardrobe is filled with random household items, which look more like clutter. If that space was cleared, the room would be much more practical. Also, there were no coffee capsules for the machine — it’s important to mention that in advance, since the nearest store is about 20 minutes away. And only one dishwasher capsule for three days was provided — not enough for a family of six.

We had an amazing time and would definitely stay there again.

Really nice villa, excellent space, everything you need is provided (towels etc), close to beach (walkable) You need a car, Lisbon is more of a day trip not a “pop in for lunch”. If the opportunity arises we will go back again. The villa is laid out on a long and relatively thin rectangular plot. At the front is a covered car port that has a small front garden that contains a washing line beside it. You come through the key code (not a physical key) front door – which is helpful as it means everyone staying can gain access, rather than there being just one or two keys. The building splits into three with a hallway that runs as a “corridor” along the left hand side of the building to the back door into the garden. The front of the villa has the front door, entry hallway then off to the right a small “hall” with two bathrooms and three bedrooms, two doubles face the little front garden with a Queen size bed in each and shutters that keep it very dark. The third bedroom sits alongside the kitchen with a small window onto the “quadrangle”. The second third of the building is a little quadrangle with a table, some benches and a very posh gas BBQ. It wasn’t the right time of year for us to use this area and the one evening we thought of a BBQ it rained. The final third is a big dining area and living area equipped with a huge TV screen and a PlayStation (3, from memory). The garden starts with a large seating area, a small astroturf area then the pool. The back of the pool has a little undercover seating area and behind that a grass area with a kids slide and trampoline. The garden then goes on and on getting narrower and narrower.

Our only small grumble – it wasn’t clear how a few things work. For example where to put rubbish for recycling (or not), the cooker hood lights, which of the many house light switches worked what light. We worked it all out, except the rubbish, which we ended up leaving out by the door.
