Windmill Suites Surprise - Phoenix, an Ascend Collection Hotel

Bedbugs found on mattress, asked for a full refund and manager was rude, ignoring my complaint with photos to prove my case. Worst experience dealing with issue. Didn't stay, and still got charged!

Manager didn't care about anything, and was disrespectful!!!

The beds were comfy, sheets appeared clean. The front desk folks were welcoming. It was an ok value on fairly short notice.

This wasn't the worst hotel I've stayed in but certainly wasn't the best, or in that range. You know that feeling of seeing someone's ultra-filtered profile picture but seeing a decades older, rougher for wear version of them in real life? That's what this hotel was like. Surface level, it looked like the photos. But in person, the whole place had a musky smell. The carpet was filthy. The paint and lighting choices in the halls made it feel sad. There was no ice maching on our floor. In my room, there was someone else's hair in the shower and trash on the floor by the bed. The toilet didn't want to flush. I always pull back the sheets to check for bedbugs and found someone's hair under the mattress protector. The mattress itself on the other bed was stained. The door handle was about to fall off. Cigarette butts littered the property. Ultimately, it was somewhere for us to lay our heads for the night, but I wouldn't go back.

We ALWAYS stay there when we are in town it’s been that way for years

The ice machines are not on every floor

Our room felt like a little apartment, we were pleasantly surprised. Great breakfast by room and stay for the amount we paid.

The towels were a little rough. The layout of the room was a little tight, restricting movement from the bedroom to the bathroom. There was another bathroom entrance in the front part of the room.
