Room a bit tired but doesn't detract from the enoyment of the stay. Room and bathroom spacious and the bed was comfortable, perfect for after hiking up Scafell Pike. Good, hearty food and friendly staff. Perfect for what we needed.

Food was plentiful and tasty enough. Staff very nice.

I hadn’t realised I’d booked a unrefurbished room. I didn’t mind the quality of the furnishings for the price but it was not clean. Thick dust on the skirtings and the drawers. Toilet was clean and bedding was clean.

"Stanley Arms"

The warm welcome from Karen and the beautiful beer garden were the highlights. We really enjoyed our stay, only one night before we walked Scafell Pike. Hotel was comfortable and clean. Special thanks to Karen for laying out some extra breakfast bits for us as we were up and out too early for the kitchen! Really appreciated it, thank you.

Only minor thing was that our room was too warm, as we were on the front we couldn't leave the window open as it was the main noisy road outside.
