Wayfarers Cloud 9

As a Filipina I feel ashamed reading some of the terrible things my fellow country people say about Wayfarers., we always stay with Wayfarers when we are visiting Siargao on business but we actually lived at Wayfarers for 2 months last year with our 3 y/o son and we witnessed it for ourselves, that Filipinos have a problem with the black bed sheets, during our stay we would have the bed sheets changed every few days and they always arrived freshly laundered free of dust, stains and smell, just because the bed sheets are black it doesn't mean that they are dirty, get over it fellow country people.

Geez, what is this nonsense that I have been reading in some of these reviews, I stay at Wayfarers every couple of months when I go to Siargao and I have been doing so for the past couple of years, for the quality of accommodation the room rates charged cannot be beaten anywhere in the area and as for security, something that I have never experienced a problem of, have these idiots that complain not noticed the CCTV cameras? Martin is as honest as the day is long and I would personally challenge anyone to prove otherwise.

Perfectly adequate for the price, no complaints.

Quiet, clean, comfortable and friendly on the pocket

Having read some of these previous reviews we became somewhat hesitant of booking, we decided to take the chance and we are so glad that we did. Having been traveling the Philippines these past few weeks we had become fed up yet accustomed to taking cold showers and sleeping on wooden beds covered with inadequately thin foam mattresses, at Wayfarers not only do they have hot showers but they have full blown divan beds with 6'' interior sprung mattresses, to us this was luxury and all for a budget friendly room rate. We chatted quite extensively with the host Martin, he's a really nice guy, interesting and amusing conversationalist, and when we mentioned them he laughed regarding the nonsensical reviews, he was actually very correct when he pointed out that these are supposed to be guest reviews yet the two most recent previous reviewers openly admit in theirs that they did not stay, that they had not been guests, they have no idea what they are talking about but are clearly too stupid to understand that. We initially booked a fan cooled room but upgraded to air conditioned, unbelievably the room became like a refrigerator within around 2 minutes, we are so impressed with Wayfarers that we have extended our stay here and we recommend this place to others, it's not five star but then neither is the price.

Since six years ago this was our third visit to Siargao and our third stay at Wayfarers, we love it, the simplicity, convenience to Cloud 9 surf break and while within walking distance of bars and restaurants is so quiet and peaceful, we have always enjoyed a good night's sleep here. Reading some of these reviews we find it astounding, indeed offensive, that we can personally experience Wayfarers on three occasions over six years and only have positive things to say whilst other(s) can verbally trash the place based only on nonsensical hearsay and no personal experience whatsoever, it's quite ridiculous, indeed it is sheer ignorance. on their parts

My partner and I have been staying at Wayfarers Cloud 9 around 5 times each year for the past 2 or 3 years, it is perfectly adequate for not only ourselves but our young child also and we have come to consider Martin as a friend.

It was to bad we did not stay at the hotel even ones coz it really anoying the owner it self is drunk when we talk to him so we decide not to stay and find new hotel.

The place and room are not properly maintained. Needs immediate renovation. The surrounding has many pests and insects like mosquitoes. The bed is dusty. The toilet is dirty. The electric fan is good for only one person. There is no receptionist but the owner himself is just around the property. I encountered so many problems during my stay but fortunately the owner was able to help me.

It very dirty it look like am living in doghouse, no tv, no bath facilities, no glass inside room, the room very dime and the shower too, iam so disappointed to the place resort am so much ashame with my co partner, its si i Unexpected to check in that area, akala ko maganda siargao di naman solid ang trip
