Mount Nevis Hotel

We had a wonderful 2 night stay. The hotel was elegant and comfortable. We enjoyed tasty meals at the restaurant, with a glorious view of St Kitts. The staff was incredibly friendly, especially Derecka at the front desk. We were also fortunate to chat with the owner Noreen and learned much about this family-run business. We highly recommend a stay.

I looked at many hotels in Nevis before selecting the Mt Nevis hotel for our vacation, based on the photos of the view and TripAdvisor reviews. While I was on the island I visited several of the other hotels for lunch, and was sure that I had made the right choice! Mt Nevis hotel lived up to the 5* ratings. The view is as spectacular as in the photos. Our room was spacious, homey, and comfortable. We had the superior suite with a patio looking out at the view over to St Kitts. It was wonderful to wake up to.! The staff is as gracious and helpful as described by others. (Special shout out to Dereka who helped us with taxis, excursions and more. ) The restaurant food is very good with a varied menu; the staff was friendly and accommodating. The pool is large and inviting. Overall, the vibe is serene, comfortable, and relaxed. My husband and I happily unwound from our hectic New York lives and slowed down to the island’s leisurely pace!

We chose the Mount Nevis Hotel based on the excellent reviews and the recommendation of a friend who stayed there last winter. The location of this hotel is a bit isolated, but the views are spectacular looking across the narrows to St. Kitts. You may want to rent a car for a few days or be prepared to use taxis. We had a large suite with a walk out patio, a separate sitting area and a small kitchen. Our suite was decorated in chic blue and white Caribbean style. There is an excellent restaurant on site. We had all our breakfasts (part of our Air Canada Vacations package) and 4 dinners there. All our meals were excellent - exceeded our expectations! We enjoyed pre-dinner drinks in the charming library/bar area and watched monkeys playing on the lawn while we had dinner! The entire property is beautifully landscaped and there were plenty of lounge chairs (and 2 hammocks) by the pool. All the staff at Mount Nevis Hotel were friendly and helpful. We were always greeted with a smile. Derecka in the office and Kristina (the manager) took care of taxi and speedboat transfers from St. Kitts airport for us and happily made dinner and taxi reservations, as well as rental car information. Sateria, Cheslin and Holly were very professional, greeted us warmly and made all our meals in the dining room memorable. We found all the people of Nevis to be warm, gentle, and gracious. We would love to return with friends and introduce them to the charms of Mount Nevis Hotel!

This is a review of the restaurant only. I would place the restaurant in the top 3 on Nevis. We have over the last 5 years visited all restaurants in Nevis. What stands out at Mount Nevis is a varied and excellent food menu accompanied by a nice affordable wine list. And food prices are also correctly positioned, especially compared to the competition. Highly recommend this restaurant in a lovely setting.

Mount Nevis Hotel was a great find for us. The rooms are very spacious, the hotel is quiet and relaxed, the restaurant is excellent and the views and setting are stunning.

Occasionally you find a hotel that gives you a nice homely feeling in a beautiful destination. Nevis and the Mount Nevis hotel are that combination. I had an ocean view room and the view is stunning. The rooms are extremely homely - I could have quite easily stayed there for a few months! Equipped with kitchenette, lovely furniture, very comfortable beds and a nice patio area. The hotel is quiet and peaceful which is perfect for Nevis. The food was also excellent and the restaurant is on a terrace with a great view. I particularly recommend their fish dishes. It’s not perfect - there are a few things I’d changes but these are relatively minor. The sunbeds aren’t that comfortable. They have a bar underneath which digs into your back. I am also used to getting bottled water replaced daily if it is not recommended to drink the tap water. They give you water on arrival but not after that. Also, it’s a pity they don’t do breakfast included - the a la carte breakfast menu is quite expensive. Nearly $20 for a small bowl of oats and an orange juice. That said, the staff were lovely, particularly Christina who was very helpful. Nevis was beautiful and the Mount Nevis hotel is a great choice if you’re going there.

We just returned from Mount Nevis and wish we extended our stay even longer. We have traveled to Nevis multiple times and each time have chosen to stay at Mount Nevis. So many aspects of the hotel make it a perfect place to travel to - the unforgettable views, excellent food & menu, the property (from the suites to the pool), and the friendly & reliable staff that makes you feel like home. In addition, the hotel can coordinate it all. We flew into St Kitts airport and transferred to Mount Nevis from there. Each step (10 minute taxi and 6 minute water taxi) was coordinated by Mount Nevis (both to & from) without any issues. Once there, they can help coordinate rental cars, day excursions, and more. We can't wait to return.

The room was huge with a kitchen and a view of the Caribbean from on top of Mt. Nevis. A very relaxing place. The staff was very helpful arranging for a rental car when Thrifty always seemed to be closed, and when we tried to check in with American Airlines and couldn't get through. Rooms are air conditioned which is probably really important later in the year, altho we were visiting in Jan. Many great restaurants and beaches are five minutes away by car. The property needs some repairs - our patio door did not lock and the room safe was broken, tiles cracked here and there. Breakfast option available - but beware: we were charged for refills of our coffee, ended up paying $16 for 4 cups!

The location is spectacular - tucked into the lush hills and overlooking the water.
