Hotel A Veiga

I needed a place to dry out after walking for hours in limited visibility in fog and endless rain. The wonderful family/staff at A Viega knew immediately what I needed and offered full laundry at reasonable cost in addition to a very nice room at a great rate. High comfort at low cost, it felt almost sinful to this pilgrim! The locals in the bar were very friendly though it was obvious to them that I must be crazy to be out walking in such weather. They advised what to get off the menu (with a wink and nod to the staff) and the fare did not disappoint. The family made it a point that they would want to accommodate my breakfast needs if I were desirous of an early morning departure the next day. They did not have to do that! Anyway, we all agreed that another hour of sleep would not hurt any of us and I was greeted with a fine breakfast at a good price before venturing out. Good value, super ambience and great people!

A fantastic hotel with exceptional staff. This was our third visit and did not disappoint. Clean rooms, fantastic food (try the brontosaurus t bone steak; fantastic) Could not fault. Moses looked after us and nothing was to much trouble. This hotel has to be the best value for money in Galicia and the location by the river is relaxing. We are planning to return to this area in the future and will head straight to this hotel.
