Tedea 2-bedroom 2-bathroom Exclusive Apartment

Great location in the heart of Vernazza…close to the train station, the beach and restaurants. Despite the late night crowd outside, we couldn’t hear a thing from our bedrooms. The apartment was spacious, clean, and the beds were very comfortable. I appreciated management’s detailed walk through of the apartment and the fact that they had soap and shampoo (!) The bottles of water and snacks were a nice bonus.

The second shower was very tiny. It was fine for us but a bigger person wouldn’t be able to close the doors or bend down to reach the soap.

Enjoyed the easy location from the train station. The apartment was spacious and nicely decorated.

Charged a bit more than expected but a great location. Lots of space! Easy trains to the other towns in Cinque Terre.

Pillow options would help, they were quite hard.

Great location, very quiet, two bathrooms and great to have air con.

Fans could be more effective in bedrooms.

Location

The rooms don’t have an AC. They are super hot and I was not able to sleep at night.

Tedea Apartment is well located in Vernazza, about half way between the train station and the harbor. It’s one floor above street level with a great view of the street and square below. There are wonderful restaurants nearby and small shops for basic groceries and wine. In the evening, after the day tourists have departed late afternoon, the neighborhood is charming. The locals are all very friendly and welcoming. The apartment is large with modern kitchen appliances (including washing machine!). There are two bedrooms but we used only one and kept our luggage in the other. There are also two updated bathrooms, which is quite convenient because would could both get ready for the day at the same time. Internet is quite adequate, but see other negatives below. We had more than enough space and loved the location in Vernazza. The rental office staff was very cheerful and helpful.

This wasn’t a problem for us, but there is a steep flight of stairs from the street level to the apartment level to carry your luggage. There is no television, but we were aware of this and brought a pocket projector and bluetooth speaker so that we could stream movies and news onto a white wall. The apartment (and building as far as we could see) has NO SMOKE DETECTORS so pack and bring your own. We brought this to the attention of the property manager and they said they did not want smoke detectors and have to deal with false alarms. (!!!) Considering the shoddy, exposed wiring for the light fixtures in the stairwell and hallway, we could never entirely relax. There is a second exit to a rear street on the same level as the apartment, in case you just happen to be awake if you smell smoke. The buildings in Vernazza are old and have not been Disney-fide. That’s part of the charm, but this was the first lodging we’ve stayed, in over 110 countries so far, that didn’t have even batter-powered smoke detectors. If you pack your own, it will only detect smoke inside the unit and will not alert you to a problem elsewhere in the building. Housekeeping is not included, and if you are on an extended stay and need a refresher, the rate for additional service on a daily seemed quite high. It might be cheaper for you to buy new towels than ask for a clean set. This is not a negative about Tedea Apartment, but be aware Vernazza is not easily accessible by motor vehicle. It’s strictly controlled. Forget bringing your own car. If you come by taxi or limo company, make sure that they have a license to deliver you to Vernazza’s small parking area in the village. Otherwise you will be walking more than 1k downhill when you arrive and then back up when you leave. (Allow at least one hour if you are walking uphill with wheeled luggage.

Only issue was that the AC could have been a bit stronger.
