Hokitika's Kiwi Holiday Park and Motels

We stayed here as part of a 10-day road trip, and it was easily the best park of our entire holiday! Sorry that we arrived during dinner time, but the host was friendly and welcoming. The facilities are apparently new and kept clean. We stayed at several holiday parks during our trip, but this was the only communal kitchen that actually convinced us to use it and cook! It was clean, bright, and well-equipped. Another highlight was the family bathroom. It was thoughtfully designed, equipped with a chair and plenty of hooks for clothes and towels—little details that make a huge difference when you are traveling with kid! I will definitely recommend this park if you’re stopping by Hokitika for the gorge and the glow worm dell.

Great facilities, lovely staff

What a wonderful holiday park and fantastic hosts. Everything from the booking to the farewell was perfect and we really loved the clean and comfortable studio with ensuite and attractive surroundings. The shed for bike storage was perfect for our needs and although we didn’t use the other facilities we had a peak and they were the best we have seen. We will be back and have already stated recommending to family and friends!

Such a beautiful holiday park and motel accommodation. Located nice and close to town with near new facilities and playground easily over seen from your cabin or site. All staff were very friendly and accommodating to our last minute requests/upgrade and the rooms were tidy and cosy with everything we needed. Our trip over lapped with the end of school holidays so nice and quiet and great value with our kids scoring the playground almost to themselves.

Loved the jumping pillow and play room.

The motel consists of odd little detached cabins that feel like they were made from kits. The designers of these modules made some strange choices. For example, the bathroom is adjacent to the sitting area not the bedroom, which makes for a somewhat long walk in the middle of the night. The vanity mirror is next to the sink rather than in front of it so that you have to scrunch around sideways to see yourself. Also, you have to close a remarkable number of curtains to achieve privacy at night. The rooms are spacious and comfortable though. There is Wi-Fi, but it is unreliable and doesn’t work well in the bedroom. The cabins surround a large play area, this would be a great place to stay with young children.
