Linden Row Inn

This is the second time my husband and I have stayed at the Linden Row Inn. We have loved both stays. For the first stay, we were in a suite that included a lovely nineteenth-century sitting room; this time I neglected to ask for a suite, but the room we received was comfortable and exceedingly quiet. Rooms have coffee makers and refrigerators and are spacious. The Inn is located downtown and within easy walking and driving distance of major sites. In short, it has loads of character. I am very glad that Mary Winfield Scott, the early twentieth-century preservationist helped to save this property.

Loved the sense of history and the courtyard space. Parking is not ideal but the printed instructions to the parking garage were perfect. The hotel was clean and the staff were kind and friendly. Daryus, who checked us in, went above and beyond in serving us. And spoke to us again every time we passed the front desk.

Breakfast was only “to go.” Also, we ordered in dinner the night before and would have liked the option of sitting in the dining area, which was closed off, because it was too cole to sit at the outside tables.

My wife and I were there for two nights with our 13-year-old grandson. We enjoyed the hotel’s history and character, including its history with Edgar Allan Poe. Our room was spacious and clean. Front desk personnel were especially cordial and helpful.

While clean, the rooms are dated and there was maid service once in a 3 day stay. While I had been told it was ok to check out a day early, I was charged for the extra day which required several phone calls to clarify why - many of them unreturned by management. Staff is doing their best & the hotel cat was a nice touch, though it appears as if the hotel is in financial difficulty. I would make a different choice for another Richmond trip.

Linden Row Inn is my favorite place to stay in Richmond. The staff is helpful, my room is always immaculate, and I love that they have Keurig coffee makers in the rooms. But my favorite thing is that the rooms are not the same cookie cutter rooms in every hotel. They have personality, and each room I've stayed in has been beautifully furnished and decorated.
