Shelter Harbor Inn

The staff was exceptionally helpful and friendly. We enjoyed the location, it was clean and comfortable. We would definitely come back.

I liked it for its ambiance and the friendliness of the staff in the restaurant was really good too

there was nothing special to note about this property - in fact, despite the high price we paid, we did not even stay the second night. our room was nothing like the photos - it was dark and covered with dark wood - even on the ceilings. the hallway and staircase was dirty....the breakfast was coffee and a muffin......they even had the nerve to charge us $50/night to park in their parking lot. you expect charm at an Inn....this one was sorely lacking.

Shelter Harbor was great! My favorite part was the van service to one of the prettiest and most private beaches I have been to in the Northeast!!

This old farmhouse hotel has multiple buildings on the property and we elected to stay in one of the outbuildings which has ground floor access. The main building has rooms on the second and third floor and no elevator. The Hotel describes itself as eclectic and it certainly is that. Our room, one of the larger and more expensive ones had a rather spartan look to it with old furniture. While spacious, it was anything but lavishly decorated, one piece of art on the wall, no telephone or clock, a quite small flatscreen TV and a bathroom with no vanity. A single plastic cup in the bathroom and a total of three hangers in the open closet area was rather revealing. If you are expecting the comfort and decor of a French or Italian farmhouse, you will be very disappointed despite the rather high price point. We paid 500+ dollars per night, including a daily facility fee and a daily fee for our room to be made up. On the plus side, the hotel does have its own private ocean beach a few miles away and a shuttle van if you need one. It also has tennis and Pickleball courts and a quite decent continental breakfast at no charge. The staff is very friendly and helpful, which is a definite plus. Outdoor raking is free.

Delicious dinner at the Inn last evening. All four meals were perfect! Staff is delightful. Value is there. The lb and a half lobster for $29 with sides was excellent.

This property is amazing! A hidden gem!

This is a great location and lovely surroundings. Nice to have a quaint place and nice change from hotel feel. Would definitely recommend and also come back to visit

The property and Inn were lovely and I can’t say enough about the staff that were very accommodating. The shuttle to the beach was a great feature, as well as the provided towels, chairs, and water. The fact that the mini split didn’t work for two nights in our room was tough. They did try to correct the problem but we really didn’t have air until an air conditioner was installed on our third night. A continental breakfast was served but maybe they needed another sterno or serve strictly cold items. The muffins were delicious!! We totally enjoyed our dinner at the Inn.

The lunch was wonderful. The service was outstanding and the food was fresh and prepared to perfection. The poached lobster roll was the best. The bar is well stocked.
