The decor made no sense some of it actually disturbing The bed was horribly uncomfortable The noise from other guests in hall & above was so loud The grounds were a bit dangerous and lacked lighting The breakfast was basically coffee, juice & cereal The price paid definitely didn't equal what received

The property itself was lovely, however, it lacked attention to detail in many aspects. This inn has so much potential if they only paid more attention to the details. It could be a wonderful "boutique" type inn. Upon entering our cottage, it smelled musty and of mildew. The AC unit did not work whatsoever despite someone coming over and trying to fix it. It never cooled and barely gave off air. Our room was for 4 people but the bedding for the sleeper sofa was not even in the bedroom! The bathroom did not have hand soap, not enough towels and the shower was moldy and dirty. The room lacked seating because if the sofa bed is open, it only left a desk chair to sit on. At breakfast, there was no trash can in sight and they should definitely consider including a few more items besides the cold mini quiches, bagels, croissants, yogurt & cereal. However, the food we had for dinner was fabulous! We had the seafood pasta and it was loaded with perfectly cooked scallops & shrimp and the burgers were great! I really hope management spends some time reading these reviews and makes some adjustments and changes.

Very nice room, updated bathroom, fire pit outside.

A poorly lit room with a clogged drain and broken room safe, but that’s not so unbearable. The moment we entered the room, we were overpowered by the perfume from the plugged in (air freshener) aerator. Shortly after, we knew why. The mold in the closet was overwhelming. Upon discussions with the front desk and maintenance personnel, I came to learn, mold is a problem in many, if not all the rooms! Our friends suffered the same problem in their rooms. Terrible! I’m home and still coughing. On a positive note, the restaurant, front desk and maintenance staff were warm, attentive and truly were lovely.

I enjoyed this property. Room was lovely and location was convenient for my needs. Would definitely recommend.

the most wonderful staff, kitch is amazing, the owner is very nice, most importantly they are pet friendly! will book again for sure.

Need to know the room better to be more comfortable with temperature. need a shower curtain or another 1/2 glass door to allow comfortabel shower. some panels in the room and noises

We loved our stay at the Shelter Harbor Inn and will visit again. Our room was comfortable and spacious. The grounds are very pretty. The staff was wonderful and genuine. We ate dinner at the restaurant two nights of our 4 night stay and both meals were wonderful. There is a shuttle to one of the prettiest and quietest beaches we have ever been on and we are beach lovers. Our only suggestions for improvement would be an upgrade to the continental breakfast which was lacking and it would be lovely if they offered wine and beer for sale on the nights the restaurant is not open. Overall a wonderful stay and a good value for a September stay near the coast.
