Shelter Harbor Inn

Our room was in the barn annex, and the walls were very thin. We could hear the couple next door talking (and then snoring!). I imagine the rooms in the inn itself are nicer. Temperature control was outdated, but otherwise, the room was fine. Breakfast, on the other hand, was terrible. Awful coffee, no creamer, prepackaged junk. This was one of the draws when I made the reservation, but what a waste. Overpriced for the experience.

Great place staff is very helpful

Writing for my son and his (now) fiancé. He proposed last weekend in Narragansett and booked dinner and a room at the Shelter Harbor Inn for that evening. He made dinner reservations and requested a vegan option for his girlfriend. Not only did the staff accommodate this request, they went above and beyond; they left notes in the reservation so everyone knew they were celebrating an engagement. They called us after dinner and said how wonderful everything and everyone was. Every staff member congratulated them; the chef made a special dish and custom dessert for her. They received champagne for a toast and because it was available, an upgraded room. They said the food was delicious and the property was lovely, but it was really the staff who made it extra special for them.

The Inn is generally nice, however they had cancelled our reservation before we even got there. They found a room, but not the one we reserved (not in main house), then two days into our stay there was no heat in our room and they moved us again. They have young kids running the front desk and while sweet kids they had no idea how to fix the heating problem. Then the Inn provided no credit for our poor experience. Overall, not great, we are not coming back!

This was our first time at The Shelton Harbor Inn and it didn’t disappoint. We loved the quaint atmosphere and having a glass of wine by the fireplace was so nice. Staff was extremely friendly and the food at the restaurant was amazing! We’ll definitely be back.

The Inn is charming, but we stayed in the basement of the carriage house which is dark, cold and damp. The bed was uncomfortable. We will visit again because the property's nice, the staff is friendly, and the location is good. However, we will make sure we stay in the Inn next time.

The 1800 farmhouse inn was beautifully decorated for the holidays. The staff is friendly and helpful. We recommend the room with a fireplace and balcony, Downtown Westerly is only a few minutes away, as are a number of great restaurants and conveniences.

Expected more for the price of this property. The heat went out and they did not fix it until the morning. It was a cold night and the staff didn’t seem concerned that we had a terribly cold night. The breakfast was basic. Will definitely not be returning.
