Dar es Salaam Serena Hotel

Good location and nice restaurant and garden. Very clean.

The staff at the reception was whether friendly nor welcoming. Took them ages to do the checkin. Talked in Swahili about the guests in front of them. The room was tidy and clean but especially the bathroom was not what you expect for a hotel like Serena. Everything in the room seems kind of outdated.

The staff was very nice as were the rooms. We enjoyed our visit in the Kibo bar and dinner at the Serengeti restaurant. The reason I rated the hotel with a 4 instead of a 5 was the location. It really was a short stay - less than 24 hours - but very comfortable.

Mini bar fridge empty.. too many night lights! 4 of them that I couldn’t turn off to have some darkness for sleep..

The Serena Hotel in Dar es Salaam is a comfortable and well appointed property with a good range of facilities. The decor is lovely and the breakfast was a fantastic spread of global cuisines.

I offer a few observations to help with continual improvement. The hotel was a little impersonal at times. Big busy hotels need to try and add a more personalised touch. There was a slight delay with check in due to a confusion over whether we had already paid through booking.com . Although the staff sorted this quickly, it should not have happened in the first place.
