Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort & Spa

Our 50th wedding anniversary with our family if 8 adults and 11 kids, 18 mo-13 yrs old was very enjoyable at the Grand Hyatt Kauai, where we enjoyed the pool area, hiking trails, lovely lawns, beach and comfortable rooms and suites. The swings overlooking the surf were great places to relax too.The adults had a lovely dinner at Tidepools. Our globalist status with Hyatt helped, providing club access for breakfast, snacks, evening appetizers and later desserts.

Huge resort in a beautiful location. Extensive and great pool area which is good because, while the beach is beautiful, the sea conditions are rough. Service was friendly and efficient and food was an 8 out of ten. Rooms are in need of refurbishment. The door jam on our room was torn out and had to be fixed. Sliding doors were inoperable and couldn't be fixed.

The resort itself is beautiful, with large and spacious rooms, stunning ocean views, excellent pools, and plenty of amenities. There is certainly no shortage of things to do, and the property is well maintained throughout. That said, the sheer size of the resort was somewhat of a drawback for us. It caters to a large number of guests and families, so it often felt busy and crowded. While many travelers may enjoy that atmosphere, we felt it took away a bit from the authentic Hawaiian spirit and the more personal, intimate experience we were hoping for as a couple. The resort has a very upscale, luxury feel, but because of its scale, it can be difficult to provide the kind of personalized attention that smaller Hawaiian properties often offer. Overall, this is an excellent resort for families and those looking for a full-service luxury experience with fantastic amenities. Couples seeking a quieter, more intimate Hawaiian getaway may prefer a smaller resort, but there is no denying that this property offers beautiful accommodations and outstanding views.

Absolutely fabulous experience at the Grand Hyatt. We loved the hotel, the views, the pools, the beach access, and the staff. Everyone was kind and welcoming! Especially over that the room key was a wrist band!! Thank you Hyatt!!

The grand Hyatt Kauai has got to be the most egregiously Overpriced hotel in Hawaii. With prices ranging from $2,000 to $4,000 a day with minimal complimentary services and activities, if you plan to visit Kauai with family you should avoid this hotel like the plague. The location is not near any fun family activities on the island and has a very boring sunset view. The room we stayed was nice but albeit comparable to much more inexpensive hotels on the island like the Sheraton or even the Kauai inn. The pool experience was ok but if that is all you are looking for in a hotel i recommend the Royal Sonesta which has arguably the best pool on the island. Which brings me to food, the menu is highly expensive for example a grilled chicken sandwich is $35 that is insane! and that is just poolside food if you go to one of their restaurants for example tide pools, prices can range from $60-$100 for small portions which taste bland and boring leading me and my family to have to eat outside the hotel for the rest of the trip. The staff service was horrible with housekeeping failing to service our room every day making the room look and smell disgusting, and at night you can hear people talking and walking around very loud for 10-11pm making every night very difficult to sleep and very loud for a family trip with kids. Overall this was the worst vacation I have ever had and I strongly advise anyone thinking of staying at the grand Hyatt Kauai to rethink their vacation plan entirely.

Fantastic resort! The Grand Hyatt Kauai has some of the most beautiful grounds we’ve ever seen, with amazing pools, ocean views, and a great location. The staff was friendly, the rooms were comfortable, and everything was well maintained. Tidepools was a highlight, and we loved seeing the sea turtles nearby at Poipu Beach. We had a wonderful family vacation and would definitely stay here again.

Excellent resort with a wide range of exceptional amenities and a beautiful location. Perfect for families of all sizes. Highly recommended.

Beautiful hotel, unbelievable pool area, wrist bands made it all so easy- forget the need for a room key, credit card (on the resort) cuz it’s all right there on the wrist.
