Being locked out of that property had no emergency number to call the property to alert someone to let me back in a a gentleman did after 30 minutes at 12 am .not that welcoming

GBAttractive outside exterior to this hotel with a nice seating area outside. The double bed had a very comfy mattress topper. The fan was good and much needed. Nice friendly staff who were very helpful with replacement towels etc for our room. Good to have the little area outside our room for clean cups, extra tea or milk.
Very dated screaming out to be renovated! Arrived on day one to find they were not going to provide breakfast, or any food during festival weekend absolutely no notification prior to this at all. Quite understood that regards evening meals as this area was quiet for the festival but some breakfast like cereal, fruit and maybe pastries would have been appreciated. We had to walk to the Co op to buy bits. Overall most carpets from stairs to the room didn't smell great. The bathroom extremely dated. The triple room we had is next to a very busy road it was hot and despite a fan we had to open windows so difficult to avoid the noise.

this is a pub that serves food but kitchen was closed during the IOW festival and i was not made aware of that at the time of booking. At the inn signs said clearly no food was being served. i had hoped to spend the evening in the pub (eating and a drink) but had to go out. i would have chosen a different location had i been aware of this. Really difficult to get hot water in the shower but given it was 30 degrees outside not such a big issue.
GGBedroom was fine, clean enough, quite big, decent telly.
It was impossible to have a shower. The pressure was nonexistent and it was impossible to control the heat. Really, really awful. We would happily have stayed there again but not being able to shower ruined it. It was obvious they knew there was a problem because there were two cable ties around the knob you put up or down to change between shower and bath, and they’d put one of those weird shower heads on that’s meant to improve the pressure (it didn’t).
GBLocation is walking distance to Newport, staff, sky sports, a bar, bus stops a plenty if you don’t feel like walking.
