Scarborough Inn

On the instructions we received, we were to check in at 3:00 p.m. No one was there. We waited and then texted them. No response. Finally, they did respond and said they would be there "shortly." Finally, at 4:25 p.m. they showed up and checked us in. They did give us a discount for the inconvenience. Then they put two charges on our credit card which we didn't authorize. One has been resolved and one is still pending. They claim to have no knowledge of these charges.

Clean pretty quiet

The Scarborough Inn looks nice enough from the outside. Like many of the small inns in this town, it has an electronic kiosk that guests are supposed to use. Unfortunately, however, the kiosk was out of order. So I wasn’t able to check in. And, unlike the inn where I ultimately stayed, the Scarborough Inn didn’t have any staff on location to assist guests even though it was still in the afternoon when I tried to check in. To add insult to injury, instead of promptly refunding the money for the room that I wasn’t able to use through no fault of my own, the Scarborough Inn decided to contest my request for a refund. I cannot recommend making a reservation at this establishment.

No mold and was clean

Looking at the gross mattress tossed behind one of the buildings the kiosk didn’t work and it was really confusing finding our room which didn’t even look like it was part of the Inn also felt bad for the deaf couple who had a hard time getting there key with the kiosk not working and with my help finally getting someone to come help

Clean, comfortable

Check in and out was done via a computer which was not responsive to concerns.

This is not a nice place to stay, unless you are desperate. We left after a couple of hours. Wish i could get my money back, but thats ok.
