The language barrier 

The location was amazing for the price. The food at breakfast and in the restaurant in the evening were excellent. Our only small gripe was that there wasn’t any tea/coffee facilities in the rooms. I would definitely recommend the Gasthof Dorfwirt as Lake Achensee is stunning and the area has a lot to offer. There are swimming and spa facilities at the Atoll which are accessible by boat (you can get a weekly pass which costs €89 to use the boats, steam train, 2 ski lifts, entrance to Swarovski world and 10% off Atoll. There are parks, cafes, restaurants, free diving boards and inflatables around the lake and you can hire bikes to cycle around it.

Good location with only a 10 minute walk down to the waterfront. Lots of parking available out front, secure bike storage, fantastic restaurant on site which is extremely popular. It's a traditional restaurant with good food, service and a great atmosphere - very buzzy every night.

Stunningly beautiful traditional Austrian hotel set in a gorgeous lakeside town with amazing views of the mountains. We loved everything about it. The food in the restaurant & breakfast were outstanding, and the staff great fun and very friendly, despite the language barrier... Highly recommended, we will be back!
