Hotel Restaurant Jägerhof

The breakfast was delicious! Plenty of choice in a lovely dining room which was nicely appointed, and offered everything you could ask for in a mid-range hotel. The owner and her daughter in law were friendly and paid great attention to every detail! Loved it! Our room was basic but very clean and commensurate with the price. Good value for the money. The owner thought of every detail...including a pin cushion and thread and needle for emergencies, and a common room with snacks available for a reasonable price in the honor system! Our washroom was large, the bed was comfortable, and there were lots of tv channels. The location was easy to visit Cochem and environs, but the town of Mayen itself is worth a visit! Parking is free but you have to be confident to parallel into tight spaces. Mayen has a lovely old downtown with a variety of restaurants, and the town boasts a beautiful castle. We were pleasantly surprised by this discovery.

The rooms were a nice size with a well kept private bathroom. It was pretty warm when we entered, but cooled off after opening the windows for a while. Thankfully it was a little cool outside. Breakfast was tasty and filling, and all the staff members were very friendly and helpful.

Breakfast was lovely had different food choices from chees and cold meats to cereals to muffins to waffles and the coffee was great as well also had a nice selection of teas and juices

It was spacious, fashionable, comfortable and clean! Also, the proprietors are a family who’ve been running the hotel for over five decades. They extended that warm hospitality that you only get in these family inns, such as helping us check in early and receiving my Amazon delivery even before I’d arrived.

The hotel breakfasts are the same every day. It’s really good and there’s a spread, but some people may want variety. Fyi, the proprietor prepares the breakfasts herself as a tradition.

I slept very well for the night. We were on the top floor, and I was able to have the window open for fresh air, it was nice. It’s a basic room with a tiny shower, but it worked! The owner was gracious, for we were there for a very short stay and didnt get to enjoy her beautiful dining room and breakfast, it looked marvelous!

We travelled to Mayen with our family using 3 rooms. The rooms were very well appointed and the beds were really comfortable. The bathroom was large with plenty of towels and really nice showers. The breakfast was very nice and there was a large variety of foods. Each table had its own platter of cold cuts/cheeses etc. On a seperate table were more of the musli, jams, jellies and honey as well as a large selection of fruit.

There is no hotel parking per say, but there was plenty of parking available. We travelled with three cars and never had a problem finding a place to park close to the hotel. Not really a problem, but worth pointing out.

This is a family owned/run hotel, the atmosphere is very friendly and kind. I felt at home the whole week I was here. The breakfast is ok, there is everything you need. The hotel even has a living/playing room. The check in process is simple, also when you are late. I will defenitely go there again! A place like this should be embraced.

The firedoors must be closed, like everywhere else, so sometimes its not easy to get the warmth out. But how many hot days are there in a year ;)
