Weinhotel Wasem

Stayed here instead of my usual Hilton in Mainz while on a business trip. It was unfortunate that there was construction work going on outside my window from 7am but not the hotels fault. My room was spacious and clean with 2 single beds pushed together. Beds were hard and pillow was OK. The towels were thin, rough and like cardboard. There were no toiletries except cheap hand wash. Staff were a bit abrupt and hard to find. The room phone didn't work. However, the room was nice, the WiFi worked, plenty of power sockets and there was a 1/4 bottle of local wine left in the room. Not bad at the price. Ate at a fab restaurant down the road - same name as the hotel. Staff there were super friendly, food and wine lovely and they packed up my dessert so I could take it back to the hotel. Ingelheim is very pretty, worth a walk round if you have time. Given the convenience of the location I will stay here again.

I recently stayed at the Wasem Weinhotel while on a business trip - I don't know why the other reviews suggest there's no wi-fi internet access - there is, it's fast and it's free. I took a look at the website before booking, and read my confirmation, so I wasn't surprised at the lack of lunch or dinner. As requested I called ahead (in English) to let the hotel know I would be arriving late and my key was waiting for me on the un-manned reception desk as promised. I found a spacious and well thought-out room, mains sockets by the bed to charge phone overnight, comfortable bed and pillow, great shower, quiet location - all perfect. Breakfast was a typical european buffet, with delicious fresh fruit and eggs on demand. I'm looking forward to staying there again.

It is a nice enough hotel however it has some big drawbacks. No internet, no phone in rooms, no elevator, no person at desk, no lunch or dinner. The room was pretty small but clean. It did not have a/c so the room was very stuffy and when we opened the window, a ton of bugs came in. Yikes! It did have breakfast, which was good, and the employees were nice but had limited English if that is important to you. The town is cool and easy to walk around in. Take the walking tour in the brochure if you have a chance.

Not a great hotel to stay. No amenities like lunch and dinner. Away from the main market. No internet facilities so not good for business purpose
