"Nice hotel, the staff spoke absolutely no English, it was much further away from town than they advertised and they didn"

6.0

Great pool, close to the beach. Quiet area with yoga classes near by.

Two things- The most frustrating part was that they advertised the property being “around a 9minute walk to Mancora beach”. This was a lie. It’s about an hour and 20minute walk to Mancora beach. I booked the property based on this. So we ended up having to take a tuktuk to town every time we wanted to get out. This was quite frustrating because the ease of walking to town and back wasn’t an option. It was extremely misleading. Secondly their add said free airport shuttle, which wasn’t true. I believe they changed that thankfully. It’s 1.5 hour drive so I understand it not being free but it still was advertised as such. Also the interest was very very patchy, though that never personally bothered me.

The hotel is located in the "Pocitas" area, which is not very close to Mancora town center. You’ll need to take a mototaxi to get there. The bungalows are nice, and the property features a swimming pool. The best part is the access to a private beach, which is just a short three-minute walk away. The food is good, and the breakfast is served American-style.

The bungalows are not cleaned daily, and towels are not changed (which was fine for us), but no one ever asked if we needed anything. The beds were also not made. The staff in the kitchen were not particularly friendly when we tried to inquire about breakfast options. I have food intolerances, but instead of explaining things clearly, they abruptly told us that breakfast is only American-style. It was not possible to have a proper conversation with them. We arrived very early in the morning, and as we had already paid for the previous night, we expected to check in and rest. However, there was no one at the reception. Despite calling multiple times, we received no response. We were nearly left sleeping outside until the moto-taxi driver, who luckily had another contact number for the receptionist, helped us get in touch. Thanks to his assistance, we were able to find our room and get some rest. On the day of checkout, the receptionist was absent again. We had an outstanding payment for a dinner, but despite leaving a message, we only received a reply when we were already leaving. Ultimately, we settled the payment with the kitchen staff. The property itself is well-structured and matches the pictures, but the staff needs to be more attentive and courteous to guests.

"Great place, room for improvement."

7.0

The place was amazing. Beautiful view and amazing room.

The service. They were uninterested. Barely smiled. The only one with a servicemind was the receptionist. The coaches in the dining area looked a little worn down. The sink at the public bathroom leaked, which made my feet wet when I washed my hands.

"Beautiful quiet spot on the beach."

10.0

Beautiful quiet hotel. It is about 5KM from Mancora but we used this opportunity to walk to the town along the amazing beach every day but that's not for everyone. If you like being closer to amenities this hotel might not be for you. But if you like quiet locations very close to a stunning beach it's perfect. We ate in hotel on two nights and the food (and pisco sours) were excellent. Also very friendly staff. No one spoke english but we were able to communicate easily enough. Our room was beautiful with a gorgeous view and large terrace but there are a lot of steps to some of the rooms so if that's a problem for you you should let the hotel know and they could put you in the rooms closet to the pool which have less steps.

Nothing, everything was great.

"Beautiful place to get away"

8.0

The space is beautifully designed and maintained. It's a gorgeous secluded paradise that's close to the beach. Great place to relax and disconnect. The staff is excellent.

Because it's an eco lodge, the rooms themselves are made with simple materials. the effect is beautiful and cozy, but strong footsteps from guests on the upper floor are loud. if other guests arrive or go to bed after you it can be disruptive. fortunately, that was the case only for two of the four nights....which otherwise we're very restful.

"Beautiful place, awful staff!"

6.0

Amazing huts, breakfast was good (though late from 8 onwards. Coffee awful though, bread very nice)

Staff!! Woow so unhelpful, cranky and at some point we were waiting to checkin and two staff members sat at the bar on their phone. We were there just before and nobody helped is, even after asking twice. When we got to the room they were still cleaning and then forgot water for the room. They also forgot to tell us the breakfast times, restaurant instructions (apparently only lunch? Still no idea) and the code for the corridor to the beach, which we couldnt enter. Beautiful place but please isntruct your staff for that kind of money…
