Royal Hotel

There was very little that I liked about my stay at the Royal Hotel. "Booking.com" had indicated that this hotel had a rating of 8 out of 10. How did this hotel receive such a high rating? I found that the hotel itself was very seedy and scruffy. I was concerned that my car would be broken into while I slept. There were signs stating that guests need to be careful as to what was left in their car. Due to the state of the building itself, the unsafe location and the type of clientele that were staying at this Hotel, the Royal Hotel shouldn't receive a rating any higher then 6.

My stay was great. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. My room was clean, comfy.

I booked through booking .com and later found out that I paid way over the amount of what my friends paid for the weekend. I called the hotel 1 month before I booked and it was higher so I booked using another source and then the hotel dropped their prices but it was too late as I already booked. I was disappointed how much more I paid for the room in the end. Next time I may not book so early.

As mentioned in my other review, it was amazing. We slept here and then actually went back for another night. Everyone was helpful and friendly and everything was very neat and clean. And the pillows were super comfy! Best hotel pillows ever! Wish I could take them home with me 😂

The only thing I could say, but this is really very minor, was the soap, shampoo, etc. is little for a family of 4, but we could get complimentary ones at the front desk. I just always think the large bottles hooked to the walls in the hotel works a little better, especially with a larger room. But there was enough towels, where we have visited other hotels and had to ask for more towels.

The whole experience was amazing! We slept there one night, then actually went back for another night knowing how good it was. They had a kettle! Most hotels now just have a coffee machine. They actually had both. So I could actually have some tea. We also got a complimentary breakfast bag which wasn't expected. The staff are amazing, helpful and friendly. The cost was cheap and the place was clean and neat and even older, kept in great condition.
