Mountview Tourist Residence

I paid for 5 nights but only stayed for one day , in fact 3 hours. I informed them about my arrival times, they slept and I stayed dumped by the taxi on the street for over 3 hours awaiting for them to open in the middle of the night. They did not, and I climbed over the fence to knock when they finally opened.

Everything and the fact that I cant be refunded.

Comfortable, i have friends in mauritius so they ask me to visit in my hotel so they let us stay and used the pool. The owner is friendly and professional also their staff. I highly recommend it.

It’s not that i didn’t like, i can oly suggest maybe some rooms need more renovations make it modern?

The guy who received me at the reception was so friendly and always ready to support .The place is nice .

The staff are extremely nice and welcoming. They will go out of their way to help you. They are kind and approachable. They are happy to make arrangements to help you and are responsive when called or messaged. I was locked out by accident one night and the owner rectified it withing 5 minutes. Somebody is available 24 hours to help you. The value for money is decent and you get what you pay for. The rooms are clean and as is the rest of the interior of the hotel, despite the rather neglected scaffoldings/structure the insides are clean. It is good to stay for a few nights if you are on a tight budget and plan to spend the majority of the day outside the hotel. It is well connected to public transport and the area around is safe also for walking.

The property could use some major renovations, it is quite run down, and the listing photos do not really reflect the state. That stated it is still passable given the price point. The walls were very thin and there is no isolation, so the noise it very loud, you can hear all conversations and sounds from reception/other guests. I was sleeping late and waking up very early so it wasn't an issue for me. However, if you sleep early or prefer to wake up after 8 to 9am this may be an issue for you . At night (around 4am) two men ( I think staff) were sleeping for the night ( duvets, alarm set etc) on the coaches in the reception area which is not the most professional. The room is a bit run down (but clean) but the bathroom has a strong odor and overall is quite dank. I did find a few bugs on the bed. I personally wasn't a fan of the breakfast, it is very underwhelming and is set each day, unless your room includes it i would not pay extra for it. The breakfast staff are lovely though.
