great location , direct beach access close to shops and restaurants , rooms over look beach and sunset pool is in need of repair, with broken tiles in and around it , the area is very slippery, we saw 2 people slip on the tiles around the pool in our 3 day stay ! staff need some customer service training

Room 101 (non sea view) is terrible, no view at all. We could get an upgrade for USD 10,00 per night and got a standard sea view room which was a good deal. Hotel with pool and at the beach is perfect. Close to restaurants and shops. There is a airport transfer, but in the street you can get a transfer for half the price. Really good breakfast.

Clean, pool and sea were beautifully warm. Food good. Sun beds with pattresses and clean towels available at all times (but it is low season).

The hotel is well situated on the beach with a nice pool but spoilt by too many wedding parties taking over the facilities with the obvious noise issues. Food mediocre and often cold. Bathroom smelly..cold showers. No entertainment facilities at all.constant hawkers on the beach. No peaceful holiday.

Staff was great, lovely food, nice pool and beach. But our room wasn't the best for the price paid. A/C was not working and the sink was clogged. ( But we did not inform the hotel regarding these issues as we stayed only for a night). They kindly extended our checkout time by an hour.

My sister and I enjoyed 2 stays over a 2-week period of a few days each. We found Goldi Sands to be a very friendly comfortable place with good food and lovely position. The staff were very helpful and pleasant. We should certainly stay again if we return to Negombo

Overall a good short stay. Rooms are a small but comfortable. The bathrooms need a good clean or even tiles need to be replaced as they are mouldy on parts. It was nice having the balcony for a beach view but the crows were a nightmare. They do not stop crowing. Really annoying, you can't relax. This isn't the hotels fault, they are everywhere in Negambo. Buffet breakfast was nice and lots of choice. Very fresh. We also had the buffet Sri Lankan dinner here. It was YUM! Gotta say the food here is very good compared to other hotels we stayed in over the 23 days in Sri Lanka. Bar staff are not great. They can't make a cocktail on their life and assume they can keep the change as their tip. Other staff are friendly and welcoming. Communal areas are tired. The seating could do with re-upholstery as it is stained. With a little improvement the hotel could be great.

We have stayed in this hotel several times and it is in a great spot on the beach. We booked through a website this time as the hotel pricing was quite expensive & they could not match the price I had been given. The room was a bit disappointing as it was a fair distance from the lift & upstairs but overall the hotel is quite good due to the location & the breakfast is pretty good as well.
