Guest Keeper Inn

This hotel is great! Cheap, quiet, clean rooms, and free breakfast! The people at the desk were very nice and you can tell they are tying to make this place a great hotel! I highly recommend staying here! Half the price of the other hotels in town!

While, at first glance, this looks like your typical economy inn... in other words, dated fixtures, a few patches on the walls, discolored tiles in the bathroom... don't let the appearances fool you. We were surprised at how clean the room was, and everything was in excellent working order. The room was quiet, the beds were comfortable, and the staff were super friendly and helpful. The sign indicated that the inn is under new management, and they obviously have made cleanliness and customer service a priority. As an added bonus, the room was over $20 a night cheaper than the hotels across the street, and MUCH quieter!

We stayed here during the Route 127 yard sale weekend. It is a bit shabby, but clean and had all the basics. The bed was comfortable and it is located near the main highways. They were very nice when I asked to see the room before taking it. A money saver.

This was the second time we stayed here in one year's time. If you are looking for economy, this is quiet and comfortable. There is a continental breakfast in the morning, coffee and a microwave in the room as well as flat screen t.v. There is a Mexican restaurant right in front which you can easily walk to from the room. If all you are looking for is a clean room at a reasonable price, this is a good place!

Stayed here a week on a job assignment. When I first walked into the room, the chemicals they put in the carpet to hide odors were strong enough to hurt my eyes and sinuses. When I mentioned this, the owners swore they only used PineSol. Well I know what PineSol smells like and that wasnt it. Anyway, after a couple days the smell went away, only to reveal the true odor of the carpeting. Smelled like a urinal, and it got stronger every day. By the 4th day I asked to be moved, but the owner was exceptionally huffy about it (I had always been very polite in all my interactions with them). The new room smelled just as bad. The owners are obviously cutting corners, and their rates are not cheap, though this is a "cheap" motel to be sure. The towels were threadbare, plumbing fixtures not in good shape. Moved to the Comfort Inn next door which is a thousand times better for about ten dollars more. I'll be here for at least a month. Spend the extra money!

My family had a trip planned to Van Wert and made reservations at the Holiday Inn Express. But I screwed up and made the reservations for the wrong date. The only place left in town with vacancy was the Guestkeeper. So the rate was very high, but I was in a bind. Room had no hair dryer, no ironing board/iron, carpet was dirty, windows were broken and sealed with plastic. The word "dump" comes to mind, but it probably would have been ok, had I not payed the outrageous price. Don't spend more than $50.
