Empire Hotel Backpackers

I thought the bed was comfortable and I was lucky that I only had one person sharing the 4 bed dorm with me. It would have been very cramped if there were more of us.

I never saw any members of staff and didn’t see many people in general. It was a strange atmosphere. The kitchen and bathrooms were also not the cleanest.

I was not treated the way I thought I would be

The staff

Good location. Great bathrooms with nice showers.

There's very little security so people without bookings were inside the kitchen when we arrived. This led to an uncomfortable interaction with a man that made us feel unsafe. Would not recommend travelling here as a solo traveller. The staff are also very invisible as it is self check in and self check out which also makes it feel less safe. There were also strange dots on the blankets.

The check-in worked very well. Nice room.

The oven wasnt clean. The basement and common area could be more welcoming.

The location

The Smell in the kitchen is awful, the room doesn't look like the picture, it is very small room, is not a personal there.

Value

6am and there was no toilet paper in one of the two toilets. Also no hand towels to dry your hands.
