Surfers Retreat

It's an amazing place to stay. Also the girls that work there Melissa and Sara helped a lot with my activities like booking surfing classes and they were very funny all the time!!

The house is nice.

From the very first second, I felt uncomfortable in this place. There seemed to be a group dynamic between the staff and a few guests, which created a strange and unwelcoming atmosphere. Whenever I was in the house, I could feel a negative vibe, and no one was really open or friendly towards me. At one point, everyone was sitting together upstairs in the kitchen, and I felt so uncomfortable that I didn’t even dare to go up. I ended up waiting until they left the kitchen just to avoid the situation. No one was openly rude or insulting, but the overall behavior felt very unfriendly and distant. The atmosphere in the house was simply odd and made me feel like I didn’t belong..almost as if I was an unwelcome disturbance. I also want to mention that I wasn’t the only one who felt this way. Two other girls I spoke to had the exact same impression. Because of this, I decided to leave the hotel earlier than planned.

Das Hostel bietet eine gute Ausstattung und Lage. 5 Gehminuten zum Supermarkt/ Einkaufscentrum und 10 Gehminuten zum Strand. Die Volunteers reinigen täglich das Bad und das Haus. Melissa war sehr freundlich.

Leider war eine Volunteer (Katia) unfreundlich. Es war auch leider nicht möglich (strikt untersagt) das Bett zu tauschen, obwohl ein Gast mir erlaubt hatte mit ihm das Bett zu tauschen (Fensterbett). Er hatte sein Bett sogar genau so lange gebucht wie ich. Das 8-Bett Dorm im Keller war sehr stickig es gab nur ein kleines Fenster. Die Volunteer fingen jeden Tag früh 9:30 an das Haus zu putzen und leider ist es dadurch sehr schwer die Küche oder das Bad zu nutzen. Bis 11 Uhr hatte man das Gefühl im „Weg“ zu stehen. Hier wäre es besser die Reinigung erst ab 11 Uhr zu beginnen. Somit sind die Gäste nicht in ihrer Morning Routine gestört. Da es einige Gäste gestört hat. Auch kostet es 10,- wenn du nach checkout Zeit dein Gepäck für 1-2 Stunden im Hostel lassen möchtest.

It was super clean, everyone had their dedicated space in the fridge and in the cupboard, shared food is clearly marked to avoid food waste - big fan of it!

People do not really separate waste. However, this is on the travellers not on the home owners.

Ostello veramente carino e ben curato, che offre anche la possibilità di prenotare lezioni di Surf/Kitesurf/Windsurf/Wingfoil Pulizia impeccabile e tutto funzionante Esperienza indimenticabile, soprattutto grazie a Katia e Sara (e Deni), le volontarie che, oltre ad essere sempre disponibili e operative quando hai bisogno di qualcosa, sono super accoglienti e simpaticissime; ti fanno sentire a casa ❤️ Grazie ragazze!
