Royal Palm Beachcomber Luxury

If you're looking for a luxury hotel with impeccable service, great food in a beautiful location, then look no further! For our belated honeymoon, and with my wife pregnant, we were looking for a hotel in Mauritius that couldn't and wouldn't disappoint in any way. After extensive research, we chose Royal Palm Beachcomber Luxury, and we are so happy we did, because our stay couldn't have been better. We arrived early (9 am) but we were warmly welcomed by several staff members, too many to remember their names, but it made us immediately feel at home. Since we stayed nearly 3 weeks and knowing my wife was pregnant, they were so nice to upgrade us to a suite on the ground floor, so no stairs had to be taken, and on top of that they provided a pregnancy pillow for my wife. This made her night's rest so much better that she now also wants one at home. Our suite was huge and modern, and had everything we could have wished for. Wall outlets look like British sockets with plug type G, but they also take the common European type C plugs. Next to that, both sides of the bed have also one USB A and one USB-C outlet, so ideal for charging any type of phone and other devices. Our bathroom was huge with a standalone bath, a shower and 2 sinks, plus a walk-in wardrobe. The terrace had a couch, a small coffee table with chairs overlooking an infinity pool and the ocean, and a dining table with a similar view. The hotel facilities are top quality. The beach is a tropical paradise with fine sand, comfortable covered sunbeds, clean turquoise water of high salinity that allows you to float like in the Dead Sea, and very friendly beach staff that is always available to bring you complimentary water, or for ordering drinks or, food. They also make sure the beach stays clean, and provide towels for you to use. On top of that, there's even a mixologist where you can try several types of mixed fruit drinks.

The salesmen on the beach every morning can be a bit annoying. They are friendly and will leave you alone if you insist, but they take away a bit of the feng shui.

The hotel exceeded our expectations on many levels. From the very beautiful beach with free water sport activities, the great breakfast, excellent level of service from the staff, champagne on arrival, clean and spacious room with great balcony, great gym. It's probably the best hotel we experienced so far regarding the quality of the service, either on the beach or in the restaurant and the main reception as well.

The cocktails and wines were overpriced.

The Asian restaurant was dreadful. The food was bland and uninspiring.

The food was exceptional. Please thank the chef on our behalf. Massive thanks also to Jean Pierre, the concierge - extremely helpful and knowledgeable. All the staff made our holiday. Great location. Friendly staff. I was only there for 2 days but staff greeted me by name every time

Beautiful location at a gorgeous beach wiht beautiful sunsets. What's not to like? Rooms are comfortable with great views. The resort is within walking distance of the restaurant and bar scene of Grand Baie, but far enough away to not hear any of the noice

The staff was oddly off - very servile, but not really service minded. Especially the boat house people were anything but helpful - which was a pity, considering they had a great range of offerings from SUPs over kayaks to Hobie cats, all for free. Also in the restaurants only a few of the staff paid real attention. This was in sharp contrast to other luxury hotels in Mauritius, so not a cultural thing
