The staff was very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. A good location for the two events I attended, one in Waukesha and the other in Milwaukee.

"One of the worst Hilton properties I’ve stayed at in 20 years."

This hotel is one of the worst in my 900 lifetime stays with Hilton. Room was very dirty, outdated by 20+ years, and the worst part was I killed bugs my first 2 nights there, 1 in liv room and 1 in the bedroom my 2nd night. No way management doesn’t know. If it were a clean hotel, I’d give them the benefit of the doubt but this place is filthy. Sitting on the couch you can smell the stink in the room, most likely the carpet.

"Long-Time Diamond Member – Deeply Disappointed by Bed Bug Incident and Poor Response"

I am a Hilton Diamond member who spends approximately 75 nights per year on the road. Since January alone, I’ve stayed over 30 nights at this particular Doubletree, making it my go-to hotel in the area—until now. After my first night during a recent 3-night stay, I woke up covered in itchy bites on my feet and ankles. Upon further inspection, I discovered multiple bed bugs crawling under the sheets. I immediately took photos, packed up my belongings, and went to the front desk. While staff did move me to another room, their response was alarmingly casual for such a serious issue. I was offered points equivalent to one free night and asked to email the photos, with the promise that the General Manager would follow up. In the meantime, I spent over $100 of my own money on laundry, a steamer, and sanitizing supplies to ensure I didn’t carry the infestation into the new room—or back home. I also lost a day and a half of work, effectively defeating the purpose of the business trip. When I returned home, I quarantined my luggage in the garage out of fear of bringing the problem into my house. The next day, I received a generic email from the General Manager offering another free night at any Doubletree. Given the impact—lost productivity, out-of-pocket expenses, and emotional stress—this gesture felt wholly inadequate. I respectfully replied with my concerns and never received a response. They simply added points to my account and closed the loop, as if that settled the matter. Since the incident, I’ve been dealing with the psychological after-effects—waking up throughout the night feeling like something is crawling on me. The bites took over a week to stop itching, and I’m dreading my next hotel stay. Bottom line: Communication was poor, with minimal engagement from hotel leadership. Compensation did not remotely cover the financial and professional costs I incurred—let alone acknowledge the loyalty I’ve shown to this location. I expected more from a Hilton brand, especially given my status and history with this property. I will not be returning to this hotel. There are plenty of comparable options in the area, and I’ll be using them going forward during my 4–5 annual work trips to this region. I’m sharing this not to vent, but to inform fellow travelers and encourage Hilton to do better in responding to serious guest concerns—especially when it comes to health, hygiene, and long-term loyalty.
