The Menhaden Hotel

Great little boutique hotel. Staff were very helpful and accommodating. Great restaurants and wineries in the area. Would highly recommend!

The hotel was lovely but a few things were amiss during our stay: (1) The Moke was not working despite the ads saying we would have access to it; the bikes, touted as "first-come-first-serve", were actually reserved for another party so not available for our use on our first day there; and the lounge that is supposed to be open was off limits due to a conference. Given the promises about all these things and the price, we should certainly have been informed prior to our stay and/or compensated.

From the self service breakfast and tea time in the evenings, the kitchenette was amazing. The rooms are spacious, lovely interior and exterior. The rooftop lounge and bar is just that cherry on top. They have a cafe and small shop with all your holiday essentials within the hotel which is incredibly convenient. The staff was incredible as well, would like to especially point out Mario (the manager), Dan (the bartender), Aedan (the receptionist), and Alfred (the room service expert).

Our room faced one of the main streets in Greenport, so sometimes we would get some siren noises and cars which could be loud. The homemade batch of cookies served in the evenings were too good, very addictive so beware.

Staff was excellent.

The attention to detail was extraordinary and the little extras, like interesting snacks, showed a real caring for the guests.

Fantastic experience

My boyfriend and I stayed at The Menhaden for my birthday, and it was truly an incredible experience! From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. The staff incredible. The entire property was spotless — especially our room, which was beautifully maintained and so comfortable. I had one of the best nights of sleep I’ve had in a long time. The location is perfect too, just a short walk to everything in town. I couldn’t recommend The Menhaden more. 10/10 experience. Thank you for making my birthday so special!
