Dan Sinh Homestay

IMPORTANT: This is a review for the co-owned "Mekong Hometravel", in which I was transferred due to renovations at Dan Sinh. The experience was so good that I decided to spontaneously extend my stay. - Amazing location in the jungle by the river - Super cute thatched huts - Staff is friendly and speak good English. Helpful for booking tickets etc - Floating market and other tours offered and starting right at the property - Amazing value for money

The stay was perfect given the category of this accommodation. Be however aware that you will be staying in the jungle with open housing (like very nice glamping). So don't be surprised to sleep in the company of geckos, mosquitoes, rats, and all kinds of creatures who live there. Mosquito nets are provided and secure your sleep ;)

I cannot really write something about it, because we get a bungalow in a other homestay. The staff is very nice and helpful!

The host and his team are very good at making everyone feel included and they provide a great experience. We did the floating market tour and it was very affordable and well run. The huts are very pretty.

Because it is under repair so we were moved to Home Travel Mekong. The atmosphere is very peaceful. We had a good experience watching the Mekong river on the back of the accomondation. Bikes are free for rent, or if you want to visit the center of Can Tho, you can rent a motorbike with 150k per day. You can go to Ninh Kieu market or some pagodas in center area. There are also some tours travel along Mekong river to see the sunset and citizen's acitivities or go to floating market by boat. You can have a chance to make traditional food, "hu tieu" by yourself on floating market tour. The staffs, Anh anh Thang were extremely friendly and helpful. Thanks to spending time chatting with us the whole last day we were there. Specially send a huge thank to Uncle Tu, who bought us fruit and made lunch for us. Hopefully one day I have an opportunity to come back and meet you guys again.

Lovely homestay with cabins on the river. Highly reccomend taking the tour for the floating markets, you leave by boat from the accomodation. Ann the tour guide is very knowledgeable and goes above and beyond to make sure you enjoy your time.

The staff were absolutely wonderful. They went above and beyond to help me out with bookings and transport, and were so kind and friendly. The location was great, it was nice staying out if the city and on the Mekong.

Firstly - I should mention that I had booked Dan Sinh Homestay which was being renovated, so I got moved to Hometravel Mekong. I wanted to love this place, but my stay was uncomfortable. The rooms aren’t fully enclosed so you get a lot of spiders, mosquitoes and massive moths in there. The mosquito net was covered in brown stains and dust, and had dried animal poo on the top. The bed linen felt very old and had holes in it. I had ants crawling all over me during the night, despite using the mosquito net. The path from reception to the rooms is also very dangerous when wet.. it has an algae layer that becomes incredibly slippery. The price is low, but I felt that I didn’t have a basic level of comfort here. I left a day earlier than planned as I preferred to sleep on a night bus than in this bed.

The location was set a bit outside of the city, but for us that was perfect because we could explore the nearby villages which don't get many tourists. They had free bikes (and motorcycles) to offer. And the floating market tour was well worth the money. For 15$ we got to see what most pay 30$+. Our guide Tan was really sweet and we talked to him about life in Vietnam. All in all, we would recommend staying here if you want something away from the chaos and a more local experience!

We didn't really dislike anything but we want to point out some things you might want to consider. During the night, the jungle is wide awake, so you might be woken up by forest creatures. They nibbled on our bananas and we had a few scares but they leave you in peace. The other thing is that it's nice to have some fruit or other food on you as you have to drive to get to a restaurant, etc.

Amazing Staff, cute rooms, really nice place I recommend the floating market tour with Anh, she is the absolute sweetest guide we had in Vietnam!

If you don’t like bugs, come mentally prepared
