Great place to spend the night

This is a very basic hotel, the rooms are extremely dated and it deffo needs an overhaul. We think they were letting out rooms to workers or locals and from this perspective it was very noisy with them playing loud music and banging around from 5 am. There were issues with the water going on and off as well and one of us ended up with an upset stomach which we put down to using water in the room for the coffee machine. The area around the hotel has a lot of homeless people, which if you were a solo traveller then it could feel quite isolating and dangerous. We never had any problems (couple) but I would return for the reasons above.

Good location and close to Union Square. Issues were that the AC wasn’t working at all, otherwise no issues with the room. They have done amazing upgrades to the room, still some outdated features like an old iHome side table clock with an original 30-pin iPod dock connector (almost 20 years old) for music connectivity. The drawers would slide open on their own and the bathroom door handle would not latch, could only keep it shut by locking it while in there. While these things need fixing, the rest of the stay, staff and cleanliness were amazing. Will definitely stay again!

As an historic property, it was ok. Sound carries and could hear the room next door.

Great central location. Good transport. Helpful staff. Old building which would once have been very grand. Would happily stay there again.

Great place for a reasonable price for San Francisco downtown visitors.

Staff was very helpful. Rooms were clean but outdated. Very noisy…you could hear all the cars and people screaming outside in the middle of the night. A/C is antique but works.

The room and entire hotel needs a bit more attention to grim build up and repainting. It was very evident that there has only been attention to the surface bare minimum. The Kingsize Bed was very comfortable.
