Struttura nuovissima, camere molto curate, la camera familiare ha un bagno spazioso, fornito di tutto e pulitissimo. Il signore che ci ha accolto è stato gentile e disponibile. Consiglio vivamente!

I mattoni fermaporta esterni possono essere un pò pericolosi (ci si inciampa) ma credo siano indispensabili col vento islandese.

This review is posted in regard to the Motel Arctic Wind/Booking.com processing a refund for five nights we did not stay at the Motel (although we had paid for six nights in advance) due to a health issue experienced by my wife directly related to the accommodations on September 7, 2025. We made reservations through Booking.com to stay at the Motel Arctic Wind in Vogar, Iceland. Our original plan was to stay 8 nights, September 5-12, 2025. However, after making the reservation with Booking.com, we had to change our arrival date, with a plan to stay 6 nights, September 7-12, 2025. We were told that changes to the reservation and any correspondence with the Motel Arctic Wind had to be made through Booking.com. There was no issue changing the dates of our stay. We arrived at the Motel Arctic Wind on September 7, 2025, as scheduled. When we arrived, the room was unlocked, and the key was on the windowsill inside the room. We were instructed to leave the keys on the windowsill when leaving. There was no personal interaction, and no instructions on how to contact the Motel Management. We soon discovered that all the sheets and towels in our room had a very strong, unnatural, chemical fragrance. My wife has some chemical sensitivities (usually not a problem 95% of the time), but this smell was incredibly nasty. And with the very small room, there just was not much air in the room to negate this strong fragrance. The description on Booking.com included the word "hypoallergenic," but we beg to differ. We did not sleep well at all on the night of September 7, between the strong chemical fragrance of the bedding and the very lumpy and uncomfortable old mattresses. By the time daybreak arrived, my wife was in significant distress. She was constantly coughing and in immediate need of a large dose of fresh air. She said that she absolutely could not stay here for six nights -- NO WAY.

The chemical fragrance in the linens was having an extremely negative effect on my wife’s health. We called Booking.com (as instructed) and spoke with a customer service representative quite early in the morning of September 8 about the problems with the accommodations. We cancelled the remaining five nights of our planned stay due to my wife’s negative reactions to the odor in the room, specifically September 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12. The Booking.com customer service representative apologized for the health issue and said that a refund should not be a problem, although it would take some time to process. We received an email from Booking.com the morning of September 8, after our phone conversation with them, confirming our cancellation of five nights and again apologizing for the problem with the intense chemical fragrance in all of the linens. We packed up and got out of there fairly early in the morning of September 8. Again, we did not see the owners, and with the amount of distress my wife was experiencing from the nasty chemical fragrance of the linens in the room, our one and only focus at that moment in time was to get out of there. Not to mention we had to find another place to stay. We patiently waited to hear back from either Booking.com or the Motel Arctic Wind. After a month of not hearing anything, we called Booking.com on October 9, 2025. After explaining the purpose of our call, the customer service representative was able to see that our call to them on September 8, 2025, was logged into their system, and their attempt to contact the Motel Arctic Wind that day was also logged into their system. However, the customer service rep from Booking.com told us during the October 9 phone call that they never received a reply from the owner of the Motel Arctic Wind. It seems the owner of the Motel Arctic Wind decided to ignore our problem.

Wonderful little spot away from the city. Convenient to airport and major cities. No frills but great little motel.
