Comfort Inn Elizabeth City near University

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The beds were extremely comfortable.

Most of the handicapped spots were being used by guests without a handicap placard.

I wasn't impressed with my room. I felt like I was in a college dorm room. The curtains had mold on them, and my daughter is allergic to mold. While the staff did move us, we still did not like the facility. The door by the elevator made noises like it was trying to let someone in. They also had a sign that said "Do not open the door to people. They may not be staying here." That made us feel unsafe. We decided to just come home rather than stay and take a chance on finding something else.

We had reservations at another hotel for our family reunion. One family checked into that hotel a few days early but the condition of the hotel caused them to switch to another hotel. We went to Comfort Inn. The hotel was spotless and the staff was wonderful. I would absolutely stay here again.

The beds and bathrooms were clean, however, the rooms need to be updated but for the price it wasn't the worst. What was MOST frustrating is that after being at our event all evening and looking forward to a hot shower and a good night's rest, when we finally got to the room the key cards did not work. After having to go up and down the elevator three times to have them reset, replaced, and then the staff coming up to try the cards, it turned out that the battery unit on the door needed to be replaced. Once in bed, people were knocking on our door and making a lot of noise in the hallways at around 3 am. I am not sure how this hotel received such a high review. Overall, I would give it a 6.2

The rooms are dated, and they are not renovated. My car was vandalized in the parking lot. The staff was nice and the air-conditioning was cold.

Staff was very nice, great location, bed was a bit too soft and pillows were a bit too soft

The best part of the stay was the staff. Our check in was very helpful and pleasant and the lady running breakfast was outstanding. Breakfast was one one the better free breakfasts we’ve had.
