Helpful staff

The staff is very friendly and polite, the rooms were basic (that was expected), we were in a pet friendly room., but the room was very clean and comfortable. The Swell motel has a nice gift shop on site, a pavilion setup as a cooking station with all you need to prepare yourself or family a meal, a nice fish cleaning station, an area for live music on Saturday evenings, an area for the little kids to enjoy, then they also have corn hole boards to use, horseshoe pits w/ the shoes, and bikes for you to use during your stay. Although we didn’t use it all, we liked what they did to the old Falcon motel, now Swell motel. We will definitely be staying again!! Plus they have all you need around you: restaurants, stores, gas stations and a bait shop just down the road and across from that is the entrance to the lighthouse/beach.

Nothing, we enjoyed our stay!

This place has all the comfort and feeling of a community. Owner has provided everything for a family to have an outstanding vacation and enjoyable time. Rooms and property are exceptional clean and well maintained. Kayaks, bikes, outdoor kitchen, fire pits, live music, and great pool. What more could you ask for. Amazing food at the Diamond Shoal just across the road. Rooms are large with everything you need This place is amazing and we will be coming back for vacations.

That we could not stay longer

This is a great option when staying in the outer banks. It is exactly what you need out of a beach motel. It's affordable, clean, and has friendly service.

The room was very comfortable, the cleaniness of the pool, unique gift shop, friendly staff Enjoyed the use of the picnic pavilion & even received a copy of a patern to make unique campfire chairs as a project as we returned home. Thank you for an enjoyable stay.

Wonderful family owned classic style motel. Very relaxed and laid-back atmosphere giving off island vibes. Pool was very clean and inviting. The two outdoor kitchens were very nice to be able to cook any of our meals on. The available bicycles and kayaks were great, and free to use. This is a perfect vacation stop if staying around Buxton.

This place is outstanding, a hidden gem. The rooms are large and clean. The owner is amazing. We used the bikes the kayaks listened to awesome music. Played in the pool, and the beach is a short distance away. If you want a family vacation where you feel like part of a community. This is It. She thinks of everything so her guests feel at home. We all loved it and are planning next year vacation.

The staff was very friendly. There was everything we needed for a family trip with kids. We could walk to many restaurants and shops. We will definitely come back!
