Posada Arenas

We spent a few nights here in November, it is quiet at this time of year so makes for a very tranquil break. The posada is set just outside of Jose Ignacio (a short drive or 40 minute walk along a beautiful & deserted beach) a couple of minutes walk to the beach in woodland. It is a wonderful building with a lovely pool. Everything was clean but there are some ants/insects from the forest which might not be good for everyone but not a problem for us. The only small issue we had was the boiler in our wardrobe was quite loud and started up at what seemed like quite random times, maybe it was for the whole of the 4 rooms at the end of the posada, anyway we got used to this after a while. Fernando and his daughter were very welcoming and always checked that we were ok, they were very helpful at all times including book dinner reservations for us. Special thanks to Santiago who was so helpful during our stay, he arranged an early breakfast on our departure day and was so pleasant and polite. Breakfast was delightful, I really loved the freshly squeezed orange juice. I really loved how quiet it was and it made a lovely home for us to explore Jose Ignacio and beautiful beaches.

Service with a smile. The owner, Fernando (also the architect) is hands on and so his his wonderful staff. Very comfortable accommodations with safe, jacuzzi tubs, big comfy beds, and chic design. Santiago at the front desk suggested totally curated restaurants that we would have never found ourselves. Great breakfast and for the beach we received umbrellas, chairs and towels to take. We will come back! Awesome stay!!

My husband and I had such a lovely stay at Posada Arenas. Breakfast was top notch, rooms were a nice size with a lovely shower and comfortable mattress. The hotel had free bikes to use which was a great way to see the countryside. What really set the hotel apart however was the amazing staff. Fernando is the owner who was on site most days. Victoria worked in the evenings and was helpful in booking restaurants and giving us advice on things to do. Santiago worked days and was so accommodating. When our rental car broke down he helped to call Avis and negotiate with them in Spanish to bring us another car. He too helped to book restaurants and even called ahead to the next hotel on our trip and book activities for us to do there. This type of service is rare to find in hotels these days. Can't wait to come back to Uruguay and stay at Posada Arenas again. Thanks to the entire Posada family for making our first trip to Uruguay so memorable.

We had an amazing stay in this place. The staff is so sweet and the hotel is so nice. We came for a break and it was the ideal balance with the beach so close. Can't wait to be back ! Sebastien & Anne-Charlotte
