Courtyard by Marriott Dulles Airport Chantilly

I loved it. I especially loved the staff.

No elevator.

I was in the area and needed to stay here one night. Checking in was smooth and the guy working the desk was nice, but after I checked in and he gave me the room key (which was on the 3rd floor), he tells me the elevator doesn’t work! How is it possible that a property this big only has one elevator and how is it allowable that it’s broken? I saw it, it’s clearly been broken an extended amount of time. He did say they’re giving 1000 points for the broken elevator, but that’s completely unacceptable, especially since I was recently traveling with a handicap spouse and what if she were with me?!?!? 1000 points isn’t going to magically get her up the steps. He told me the place as completely booked, so it didn’t appear there were lower floor options. So, I get into the room and immediately smell the odor of urine – YUCK! Not sure if someone peed on the carpets or if it was condensation and musty smell from the HVAC – but I wasn’t staying in this room, so I called him and this is when he told me the place was completely booked. He checked and found me a room on the second floor. I got the key for that room and when I went in, it stunk too, but not nearly as bad. The bedding didn’t look very fresh and clean and the bed was on the softer side, which tells me it’s been in place for quite a while. The TV was tiny, I think it was a 32”, much too small for a hotel room. The room was overall very outdated and needing an upgrade. So many Marriott properties I’ve been staying in over the past couple of years are like this – Not sure why they don’t force the property owners into refurbishing and upgrading their properties, but they really need to and stop them from milking profits from outdated, stained, disgusting rooms and properties!

Hotel was a bit run-down

Business center and snack and drink market were well-equipped. Service was great and breakfast in the cafe was DELICIOUS! Elevator is under construction, but they're offering a thousand extra Bonvoy points as a result. Indoor pool and hot tub were empty, which is a drag because those have always been a major selling point for me with this brand. Could use a bathroom fan, an extra trash can and a full-length mirror in the room. Otherwise, it's the same Courtyard that has been my favorite brand for at least the last 20 years!

The pool is closed for good , no breakfast except for the Starbucks inside the lobby

Very friendly staff. I appreciate they gave me a lift back and forth from space center

Some Rooms and the hall looked outdated. I saw staff cleaning so that is not the problem. The place was clean. It just need renovation. I heard that was happening in other wing I think.

One room had blood stains and was not clean. The bathtub was leaking every time I showered, holes in the BATHROOM wall. Worst trip ever, and they were very unhelpful! Their Starbucks doesn’t take cash, or Starbucks gift cards. Front desk is not able to help with anything until hours, or a day later.

The hotel shuttle is good and hotel was convenient to IAD. I’ve stayed here multiple times and find the employees to be accomodating. Bistro is great or 2 min walk across the parking lot to Longhorn Steakhouse. Rooms are clean and bed is comfortable.
