Motel One Madrid-Plaza de España

This was an amazingly good value. The room was incredibly comfortable and well-appointed, and the location was very convenient. What also stood out was the hotel's stylish personality. The entrance and main-level bar area had a modern, trendy vibe that made the property feel unique and inviting.

I booked a room with a king-size bed. The room was spacious and comfortable for two people, and everything was clean upon arrival. I was also pleasantly surprised to be able to check in at 1:00 pm, which was greatly appreciated.

I stayed here previously when the hotel was still part of the Mercure chain, and I have to say that the standards were noticeably higher back then. There was not a single complimentary bottle of water, no toiletries provided, no kettle or coffee machine in the room, and the minibar fridge was completely empty. The bathroom also lacked an adequate ventilation system, so after two showers it became extremely hot and uncomfortable. For a room costing over €200 per night, I would have expected a much higher level of comfort and service. Unfortunately, the overall experience did not match the experience I previously had in the same building.
