Location, standards

I booked and paid two rooms for my friends. I then tried to upgrade the number of visitors, but booking.com did not allow it (why!?) so I had to go to the hotel desk in person to pay the extra charges. I left my credit card as a deposit. A day later my guests arrived and they were told they would be charged for the the supplement I had already paid! I had to head to the hotel in person once again to complain and to prevent Meliá from charging twice. No apology was issued.
