Alexander lake lodge

Having weathered a huge storm in Salt Lake City where we had to sit on the highway while multiple crashed cars were cleared, we arrived late to Alexander Lodge. The mom gladly cooked delicious pot pies and a wonderful salad for us that we took to our cabin. We were so grateful for her hospitality after an 11 hour drive. The cabin had a GREAT gas fire heater, a complete kitchen, and huge king sized bed. We had our own deck that overlooked the Grand Mesa National forest! We sat at the window and watched the arrival of that storm we outran in SLC. Such beautiful snow! Our deck was shoveled for us. And we had lattes while looking at the snow covered trees. The lodge itself is AMAZING! Just beautiful. The dining room was also amazing, with a view out several windows of the National Forest!! Wonderful lodge furnishings. The mom decorates for each season, our season being fall harvest with an overlay of Halloween, so well done. Plentiful breakfast was served buffet style. The drive from Highway 70 to the Lodge was about the most beautiful drive I have ever taken. One of the properties had a flock of peacocks. This was my husband’s last road trip-he is nearly 80 and unwell-so we unfortunately will not be able to return to this paradise in the park. He shoveled the snow from around our car like a champion, but his physical condition just deteriorated that morning and we spent part of the next day in an ER….he is recovering at home now and has fond memories snow on trees!

The cabin was cute and cozy. Way up in the my mountains! If looking for a camping type experience, it was pretty. But we just needed a place to sleep and had to leave early before breakfast.

The cabin was cozy but adequate, bed was comfy. The view from the cabin was beautiful. The owners are polish and cooked the most incredible polish platter for us for dinner. Sausage, pirogies, stuffed peppers, potato salad, sourkraut plus homemade tiramisu for dessert. Call ahead for hours, they closed at 5pm. Breakfast had homemade pastries that melt in your mouth. I would stay here again!

Rustic cabin with excellent views of Lake Alexander. Our 2nd time this summer!

Very relaxing 3 day stay, quiet. Beautiful view of lake w/short walk down to lake. Cabin was clean and comfortable. Will definitely consider staying here again. Would have been nice to have had paper towels and coffee filters available in the cabin as these were not items we had brought.

Over all very nice, parking area could be improved, backing out to main road is not good. Could have used a few more supplies like napkins or paper towels, again over all was very pleasant.

A rustic lodge next to a beautiful lake. It's run by a Polish family who take great care of the property and serve delicious authentic food. The cabin we stayed in was clean and we'll equipped. This was a great find and we wish we stayed longer!

The cabins are simple but comfortable and it was a great surprise to find wonderful Polish food being served for dinner!
