The location was super. This bnb is within walking distance of the Malecon and various bus lines (if you want to take city buses and some excellent restaurants. The Metropolitano station, Ricardo Palma, is about a 15 to 20 minute walk away. That's the cheaper and faster way to get to Centro Historico), as well as Parque Kennedy. Breakfast was sufficient; Saudi fried up eggs (your choice of scrambled, fried, or an omelette) fresh. The rest of the breakfast offerings were crusty buns, jam, and fresh juice (different fruit juice every day). She was a great hostess: friendly and very helpful. Our room was comfortable and big enough for my wife and I.

Although this is an applicable criticism for all accommodation in Peru, there's a 5% surcharge if you pay for your room with a credit card. This was a shock as we stayed for 7 nights. So if you want to avoid this, either pay in advance or get enough cash (Peruvian soles) when you're exchanging funds for your trip. Two things to prepare for: First, there's no elevator. Our room was on the third floor so we had to haul our suitcases up three flights. Second, there's no A/C. This isn't a huge issue as this bnb is close to the sea and there's a cooling breeze. The room does have a fan which cooled things down sufficiently. The biggest issue was noise. Construction is happening next door and it starts early. After a while it became white noise, so on Sunday and May 1, a national holiday, there was no construction racket. The quiet seemed almost unnatural! Ironically enough, the building under construction became a landmark for us. We got a little lost trying to navigate the back streets around Calle Cesarea Chacaltana, but the building with the huge blue tarp gave us a way back to the bnb. Last thing, bring your own shampoo, conditioner and soap. The small, wasteful packets are all you get.

The location of this property is excellent; we easily walked to Larcomar and Parque Kennedy, and the walk to Barranco is very pleasant if you enjoy being on foot. The room was clean and equipped with a fan, and the breakfast provided was good.

After booking, the host informed us that payment is collected on-site. They prefer cash (USD, PEN, or EUR), as credit card transactions carry a surcharge. While the host offers a shuttle service, we found that taking an Uber from the airport was a more cost-effective option for reaching the property. We found the check-in process a bit stressful. There was a bit of a back-and-forth regarding luggage storage for our late flight the next day. Despite the amenity (24-hour front desk) being listed online, the host seemed hesitant about the time we would pick up our luggage and repeated the same questions multiple times, which felt a bit unwelcoming. While we eventually reached an agreement, the initial reluctance and the need to renegotiate the following morning felt unnecessary and disrupted our tight schedule. If you have specific needs for luggage storage or late departures, it may be best to confirm these details in writing well in advance to avoid any misunderstandings during your stay. The soap provided is one small, single-use packet for two adults. Bring your own soap, shampoo and conditioner. The place is a family-run bnb than a traditional hostel. The property itself is clean and perfectly situated. While the host did eventually accommodate our needs, the friction during the interaction made us feel a bit uneasy. I do not plan to return to this property.

Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Ausstattung des Zimmers war einfach, aber wir hatten alles, was wir brauchten. Es gibt einen gemütlichen Innenhof, wo man sich aufhalten kann. Das Frühstück war einfach, aber gut. Das Personal war durchgehend sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Die Lage ist auch super, man kann vieles fußläufig erreichen, trotzdem ist es sehr ruhig. Insgesamt wirklich empfehlenswert.
