Inverdoorn Game Reserve Lodge

Die Unterkunft war super eingerichtet. Schönes Zimmer und gross genung. Der Aussenbereich war Atemberaubend. Die Safaritour ein super Erlebnis.

Zimmer konnte etwas sauberer sein.

Die Lodge liegt circa 3 Stunden von Kapstadt entfernt. Wer wilde Tiere in der Natur sehen will, ist hier genau richtig. Man muss sich allerdings bewusst sein, dass die Tiere nicht in ihrem natürlichen Lebensraum leben. Sie müssen gefüttert werden und sie sind eingezäunt. Dafür hat man fast die Garantie Löwen, Giraffe, Zebras, Büffel und sogar Hippos zu sehen. Das Gelände ist so groß, dass man eigentlich keine Zäune sieht. Sehr geschmackvolle Einrichtung, sehr gutes Essen.

Insgesamt gepflegte Anlage in schöner Kulisse. Die Safaris waren überraschend gut, auch wenn es mit dem Krüger Nationalpark nicht mithalten kann. Wer in der Nähe von Kapstadt was für eine Safari sucht ist hier richtig.

Essen war nicht überragend aber ok. Das Reinigungspersonal lässt scheinbar im Bad immer das Fenster auf, so dass wir am Abend hunderte von kleinen Fliegen im Bad und Zimmer hatten. Wir konnten aufgrund der Jalousien nicht sehen, dass die Fenster offen waren.

The staff were all wonderful. The food was very, very good. Our game drives with Kevin were fantastic. Inverdoorn has small vehicles with comfortable, padded seats and even though the landscape at first view looked really flat, it is actually incredibly varied. After a stay at another game reserve with similar set up but bigger, with day trippers, our stay at Inverdoorn felt very private as we often didn't see any other vehicles on our game drives. We stopped for a drink in what felt like the middle of nowhere around sunset, it was getting dark and around us was only the bush-it was magical! The stargazing trip after dinner was also amazing, despite the almost full moon it was so beautiful to be out in the bush watching the nightsky. The last bit of the road to Inverdoorn is unpaved and in the rain it got quite slippery and rutted. We loved the adventure but be prepared for your car to be covered in red mud if it rains!

Some of the facilities felt a little bit tired, but that could have been influenced by the rain on our arrival. The next day the sun was out and it all looked lovely. Our room was small for 3 people, but as we were only there for 1 night, it was fine.

Staff was very helpful. Food was amazing, nice presentation and amazing taste.

Mattress was not very comfortable. Same food menu for lunch and dinner, they must provide different options, especially for vegetarians.

It felt like a little luxury oasis in the desert. Rooms were clean and lovely. Beds were super comfortable. The food was all delicious and abundant. And the safari drives were exceptional. It didn’t feel overcrowded or commercial. Great and well planned activities - We loved every minute.

Nothing - everything was lovely
