Toby and the front desk team made us immediately welcome. The hotel is lovely and had a great vibe from arrival and throughout our two night stay. We were with another couple so our adjacent rooms helpful. Dinner was lovely with also with live jazz playing in the bar. My only area for improvement is breakfast which frankly was underwhelming. I suggest adding fruit smoothies, wider mix of fresh bread, wider mix of fruit and options for e.g. omelets and kippers and so on. Overall I recommend this hotel as its location is fantastic, the welcome is great and the rooms are fine. Thank you for a lovely weekend.

The Staff, atmosphere, location were excellent. The hot buffet was lovely and the range of breads excellent. Also the melon bowls and yogurt pots were good

The cold meat and cheese buffet at breakfast, felt it needed to be sitting on a cooler.

The room is old fashioned and didn't reflect the standard I expected for a "superior' room and the price.

I recently stayed at University Arms Hotel in Cambridge over the bank holiday weekend with my partner. We have stayed here a couple of times previously so we knew what to expect, and once again it delivered a very enjoyable experience. The location is one of the biggest highlights. It is centrally located, about a 15 minute walk to the main station and an easy stroll to many of Cambridge’s key attractions, restaurants, bars, theatres, pubs and shops. The hotel itself has plenty of character and charm, supported by consistently professional and friendly staff. From a seamless check in to a very helpful concierge and attentive breakfast team, the service stood out throughout our stay. Our Marriott loyalty status was recognised and we were kindly upgraded to a room overlooking the park, which was a lovely touch. The room was bright with great views and a well appointed bathroom featuring heated floors and a good shower. It was also well equipped with everything you might need including plenty of hangers, tea and coffee, biscuits, a kettle, iron, ironing board and hairdryer. It is genuinely difficult to find fault. The only minor issue was some visible black marks and scuffs on the carpet. There were USB plugs available and canned water provided, though I do not recall there being a fridge in the room. These are small points and did not affect our overall experience. Breakfast was good, although I remember it being slightly better on previous visits. There is a decent selection including pastries, fruit, continental options and a hot breakfast. Omelettes are available at an extra cost and the choice of fillings is somewhat limited. Overall, this hotel offers excellent value for money with a fantastic location, comfortable rooms and high quality service. We both slept very well and would not hesitate to return. It would be difficult to choose another hotel when visiting Cambridge.

Brilliant location, really comfortable bed, and a spacious room with a balcony overlooking the park. Everything we were looking for on a weekend away in Cambridge! The staff were great on reception and the concierge, Charles, was a particular star.

Small things. The TV reception comes via the internet and was prone to slowing and buffering. The shower water took a while to get hot, then went cold, then hot again.
