All our needs were met great place to stay

My recent stay at this hotel in Boston was extremely terrible. The hotel has violated hospitality industry operating regulations, safety codes, and U.S. consumer protection laws. It involves potential safety hazards, privacy infringement, severe service dereliction, and illegal unauthorized charges, failing to meet the basic operating and service standards of a legitimate lodging establishment. Firstly, the in-room facilities contain critical safety risks, breaching the hotel’s legal obligation to guarantee guest safety. The bedside wall lamp was fully non-functional and structurally loose, shaking violently and at constant risk of falling. Mounted directly above the guest’s sleeping area, it posed an imminent danger of head and facial injury. Additionally, the bathroom sink was severely clogged with standing water and extremely slow drainage from check-in, resulting in unhygienic living conditions. I left a written note on the bed to clearly inform the staff of these hazards and request urgent maintenance. However, the hotel completely ignored my reasonable request, discarded my feedback note arbitrarily, and took no remedial measures. This negligence reflects a blatant disregard for guest personal safety and the mandatory facility maintenance duty required by lodging regulations. Secondly, the hotel staff demonstrated unprofessional and improper conduct, violating guest privacy rights and room access compliance rules. Despite a clearly displayed “Do Not Disturb” sign on the door, the housekeeping staff unlocked and entered my room with a master key without prior consent. Under U.S. accommodation laws, a hotel room is recognized as a temporary private residence. Unauthorized entry with a privacy notice in place constitutes an invasion of privacy and caused severe mental distress and security concerns. I negotiated with the staff on-site and confirmed a 4 PM cleaning time, which was verbally approved.

I've stayed at the Eliot on two previous occasions and gladly booked again when I was planning this visit. The hotel is small compared to the mega-hotels in Boston, having 79 suites and 16 guestrooms (95 total). It's a boutique hotel and reminds me of the hotels in Paris! It's service is refined and quite accommodating for any request. The suite that we had booked was spotlessly clean and quite spacious. The draperies and bed linens were of top quality and our rooms were decorated quite tastefully. We had requested feather pillows when making our booking and they were in place upon our arrival. There were two chocolate chip cookies and a welcome note on the coffee table in our living room. The bathroom was most adequate with a shower that had good pressure on the 7th floor (9 story building). A bountiful breakfast is offered in their restaurant for an additional fee consisting of eggs, sausages, bacon, potatoes, oatmeal, fruit, yogurt, breads/bagels and the MOST delicious, flaky croissants that I've had outside of Paris! There are MULTIPLE restaurants in the immediate area on Newbury Street (begins ~ 500 feet from the hotel) as well as shops. The star of our stay was the Guest Service Manager, Ms. De La Torre, who quickly and professionally resolved two minor blips in an otherwise MOST enjoyable stay. I will always stay at the Eliot whenever I am in Boston.

Amazing hotel. Great staff. Very friendly and always available. Hotel location is perfect and the restaurant (Uni) is fantastic.
