The Westin San Diego Bayview

Our bartender was David and he made us feel so at home. Took our order within a minute of us sitting down and just had such a great personality. We stayed at the bar because he was there… ALSO the Paloma’s were to die for. And I used to bartend! He knows what he’s doing.

I had a wonderful time and David was very welcoming and kind. He made our time so special and we had so much fun. I can’t wait to come back.

Mikayla was such a great server and so friendly! We got to chat about music and she was more than accommodating for all the drinks my group ordered. What a great bar!!

Mikayla and David at the bar are great. Good food choices, solid drinks and great vibes. We got the Bolognese and the House Burger which were fantastic!

All That Glitters Ain’t Gold — Accountability Matters Our stay at The Westin San Diego Bayview revealed a serious gap between appearance and accountability. We used the valet parking service offered by the hotel. While our vehicle was under valet care, it was damaged. When this was reported, the immediate response from staff was to distance the hotel from responsibility, stating that the valet is a third-party company. That response is the issue. As guests, we did not choose or contract the valet company. We trusted the hotel to provide a safe, coordinated service. When something goes wrong, true service is measured by ownership, not deflection. Since the incident: The burden has been placed on us to chase for answers This review is not written out of anger — it is written to call for leadership and resolution. We expected: Written documentation of the incident Full insurance details Clear next steps for repair and reimbursement Direct contact from hotel management or corporate Until this is resolved, I cannot recommend valet parking at this property. Luxury is not the lobby. Luxury is responsibility when things go wrong.

This is a challenging review. First, the location for the Westin SD Bayview was excellent. Central to everything in downtown SD and easy to get to everything. Secondly, the staff and personnel were great. Both friendly and helpful. Third, the hotel was clean and has great amenities offered. Fourth, the lounge/bar had excellent offerings and Mikayla was our server each evening and she was outstanding! She never stopped working or hustling…sometimes the lounge was hopping and other moments it would slow down…my Mikayla never slowed down! Give her a raise!! Finally, the reason for the poor rating was simply the water pipes banging and rattling so loudly at night (1:30am and 3:15am) on two different nights that it woke us from a dead sleep. The hotel was so great but if a guest cannot get a good night’s sleep, all else goes out the window. Westin San Diego Bayview….please repair these rattling pipes!!

Convenient location, walkable to the waterfront, Little Italy, and many restaurants. Check in was easy, room was comfortable (great views if you’re on the high floors), and housekeeping was great too. The valet service was exceptional especially from Kai, Jordan, and Hector. They went above and beyond and were so accommodating. We appreciate the amazing service from them!

David was an incredibly funny, kind, and attentive bartender! We had a ton of fun with him.
