Hampton Inn & Suites Atlanta/Duluth/Gwinnett

I stayed in this hotel on the 7th floor last weekend and was suprise by the bad experience encountered. I have visited Duluth regularly during the last 15 years and always stay at this hotel for their convenience location. The hotel's website showing they were recently renovated but they should demand a refund from their contractor. First, there were ants crawding all over the bath room. I called the front desk to change room but was told none is available (at 4 p.m.) Instead, they send up a maintenance work to spray the bath room and the closet nest to it. Second, the commode has a slow leak. Since I am unable to change room, we put a towel around the base of the commode to slow the water flow. I just their wash machine clean the towels better than they have done for their room. Third, the overall condition of the room is not the Hilton standard I have expected. Nail holes on the door from replacing the lock and latch. Floor boards are heavily stained and just dirty. The last draw is when checkout there is a "open item" charge in the bill. I check with the front desk clerk and was told it was charge for the snack I didn't purchase. I asked for a refund and was told to call back next business day and spoke with the manager. They did refund the extra charge at the end. Before you said how can I fuzz over a few dollars, this is just the principle for hotel charging guest without notification nor able to provide reciept on additional purchase. There are other Hilton properties nearby and I don't recommend this Hampton Inn to other travelers.

The water was hot the manager changed our rooms and checked the water it stayed hot for a sec and went back cold customer service was perfect it was just the condition of the room for the price didn’t add up
