Quality Inn Madison

We stopped here on a Wednesday night while on a trip. The hotel is old and somewhat outdated. Rooms are entered from the outside of the hotel. No interior corridors. Rooms are large, similar to suites. We had a king bed. There was a sitting area with a couch available. The floor was imitation wood, I think. Bed was very comfortable. Shower etc. was good. The lady on the front desk was very courteous and friendly. There is a Crackerbarrell across the parking lot.

We recently stayed two nights for a nearby football weekend. This hotel is about as basic as you can imagine. We knew that and chose it anyway because of the price/value. THE GOOD NEWS — The hotel was clean, even though very old. The rooms had been updated with new vinyl plank flooring which makes it much easier to keep clean. Kudos for that. THE BAD NEWS — There are three problem Areas. (1) The mattress was lumpy and uncomfortable. Needs replacing pronto. (2) the tv seemed rather new, and the cable channel lineup was extensive and more than sufficient, but the picture quality was poor and the remote difficult to operate with many mystery buttons, and finally (3) The free continental breakfast advertised on the website as an included amenity was a bad joke. I had actually stayed at another Quality Inn two weeks previously in nearby Greensboro and the breakfast there was very good with all the items one would expect to include a waffle maker. Therefore I was expecting something rather similar. Wrong. There was nothing but coffee, juice, and a few random prepackaged pastries. The breakfast room was closed down with all the chairs stacked on the tables. The tv was off. No explanation given. On Sunday morning I went back for coffee and the breakfast room was completely dark. It was 9:10 am. There was coffee in the dark but not even any packaged pastries. I was told the “continental breakfast” ended at 9 am. Ended at 9 am on a weekend morning? I believe this is a misrepresentation of the included amenities and reflects very poorly on the standards of service at Quality Inns. The catch these days is to blame everything on Covid but that excuse doesn’t work when the Quality Inn 20 miles away provides a full breakfast.

Only stayed here for 1 night and it was fine. Clean, comfortable room on the 2nd floor. Had a fridge and microwave. Internet was good and tv channels were adequate. Front desk staff lady was friendly and helpful.

Although it was clean, it’s a very run down place and $84 per night is outrageous. The tub was very rickety and barely held together. In a room next to ours there was a fight going on until 3 am. With all the unrest in our country we were afraid to report it.

I have stayed here several times before as my stopping off point on the way to the beach, and have never had any problems. This December, the front desk was quick and friendly for my checkin (using Choice points), my room was fine and everything worked. The TV didn’t have the best picture and there was a vertical line down the middle, but otherwise it was fine. Internet was great and I had a good night’s sleep in the bed. I still feel this is an above average Quality Inn. My only real complaint is the number of points needed to stay here keeps rising. I would stay here again, it meets my needs, I feel safe and it is comfortable. There are lots of options to eat in the area and it is easy on and off the interstate.

I stayed at this property on Nov 11-14 2019, Room 230. Located right off I-20, behind Cracker Barrel. Check in was pleasant and swift. My room had micro/fridge, and was reasonably clean. Plenty of restaurants close-by. I would classify this hotel as great for the overnight stay, get up, eat and go. Basic fare Cont. bkfst. No sleeping issues.

I wasn't sure what to expect being behind a Cracker Barrel but I was pleasantly surprised. The outside isn't new so I was skeptical as to the quality of the room. The front office is basic and looks like the hotel could be more like a motel. I was very pleasantly surprised as soon as I opened the room door. The picture says it all that you need to know about the quality of the room. At $85.00 per night this is a very good deal for the price if your are traveling through and need a place for the night. This is a 5 star based on the quality to price ratio.

We were quite pleased with our stay at this budget hotel. The value was excellent as the room was clean, quiet and safe for me, wife and our large dog. (he had plenty of walking space beside and behind the hotel, altho they provided no waste bags). The rate and the pet fee $15 were very good. Breakfast was adequate. Except for the rather stained and worn carpet, room was clean. Bed plenty comfy. Kinda awkward bathroom entry as the door only opened 180 degrees and was a tight squeeze. Inexpensive vending and working ice machine (not the case in our last 2 hotels stops!). The interstate exit offered all services and restaurant options needed for an overnight stay - the Cracker Barrel is just across the parking lot. Good choice for a one-night eat and sleep travel stop.

The room was clean, but had a very musty smell to it. It was a “non smoking” room, but the rooms around it must have been smoking rooms because I could smell smoke from time to time. The towels were very thin and the stopper in the tub did not work. The next morning, the cable was out for awhile and when it came back on was only working for the network channels.

It is welcoming to pets but seems a little run down and needs some remodeling.overall not bad just a little tired.
