Quality Inn Poughkeepsie

We checked in at 3:05pm since we were not allowed to check in until 3pm. Upon going to our room, it reeked of cigarette smoke and had a fresh cigarette burn on the bed covers. I am pregnant and a cigarette filled room is unacceptable. We complained to the front desk and they said they cannot give us a new room and they would handle it while we were away for an event. Facilities sprayed febreeze which did nothing to alleviate the cigarette smoke. It just reeked of fresh febreeze and cigarettes which was revolting. We left and returned 6 hours later and the cigarette smoke was just as bad as when we left. The front desk did not provide any solutions, compensation, or reimbursement. Front desk also denied giving us information to speak with management or corporate management

Room was clean and of decent size. Staff wasn't the most attentive; we had a non-flushing toilet and told them of this in the a.m. Later that day it still hadn't been fixed so I called the front desk and they asked me to come get the plunger. Also, WIFI was very poor so don't plan on getting much work done if you are staying here.

The room was clean. The staff worked with us during our stay to help accommodate my son who was on crutches and were friendly.

The location was nice. Not far from the things that we wanted to do.

The bathroom is really tiny. Didn't realize when I said second floor room that the stairs on the outside were steep. The walls paper thin. Ended up getting a sound machine.

There was a very weird smell in the hallway and the bedroom. It felt very basic and I wasn't 100% sure how clean it was

I do not often write low reviews, but this stay was beyond appalling: 3 out of 4 lights in the room were burned out. This is probably a bonus because it made it harder to see the dirt, scratches and scrapes all over the room. The toilet was downright filthy (I wish there was a way to attach a photo) and the smell ... I had to relay set all of my clothes because they smelled like the roo. Which was nearly unbearable. I only supposed to stay for one night and got up a 5 am to check out and leave because I could not stand being in that room any longer.

The room smelled like cigarette smoke and was musty. The outside areas had trash on the ground. The service was nice and we enjoyed the free breakfast.

Really wonderful staff.
