Sands Motel

Location was great and the staff was nice.

We were super excited reading the reviews about the hotel. Room we booked had a kitchenette so that was a plus so we didn’t have to eat out. BUT the stove burners had old tin foil in them. The bathroom had tiles that you could tell had gotten wet from a leak and were not replaced. The sink in the bathroom constantly dripped and the handle in the shower had lord only knows what on it.

I loved the fact that our was very much like a mini apartment, very roomy!

In areas like the bathroom, where the toilet paper is held the metal frame was very rusted.

The motel and staff were exceptional!! We were in town for a cheer competition and the staff was so wonderful. My youngest wanted some ice cream from their lobby and they were kind enough to give it to her just because she was so polite about it. Very clean and super convenient location for the beach and boardwalk!

Only complaint I have is the pool hours. With having a cheer competition, our weekend was pretty jam packed. My youngest wanted to swim, but the hours were 10am to 8pm. By the time we arrived on Friday, there was no time and by the time the competition ended, there was no time. I planned on letting her swim at the pool and the beach on Sunday, but check-out time was the same time the pool opened. May want to adjust the pool hours moving forward!
